I think the only decent thing Merc can do is arrange for it to race the whole season strategically shrouded in darkness just like in the photos.
Jesus!! That's the worst of the lot so far, I can see why they were reluctant to unveil it. Absolutely hideous.
Certainly got a longer wheel base than its predecessor. Very much longer in fact.... actually how far back are the rear wheels?
I assume that black line in front of the rear suspension is heat shielding, so I guess they're trying to run it down the top of the sidepods and try and use the negative pressure effects to pull it down to the diffuser. Like so: please log in to view this image
Interesting, I wonder what they've been hiding then, if anything, looking forward to seeing the rear of that car in barcelona
Another downside to the stepped noses: the on-board shots are going to look pretty weird. ... I'm just not sure about Mercedes. Certainly I'd argue it's not worth looking into their pace until the third test at the earliest, possibly not even until qualifying for Australia.
Hahahaha⦠The Bando-barf⦠I'm not sure how you can deduce this from what has been shown so far, EMSC. Personally, I find it very difficult to make a comparison without seeing another (or previous) shot of a car from a similar angle and distance. Back to aesthetics for a moment: my opinion is that this is far from the worst looking 2012 car yet revealed; and one of the best looking stepped-nose jobs. P.S. I never did care much for plastic-surgery: keep it all real for me. And it will be a good thing when this current fashion is a thing of the pastâ¦
I was looking at an image at relatively the same distance, and that rear wheel seems much further back to me.
