Mercedes reiterate test was conducted by Pirelli and that tyre firm set session's parameters; Team claim they didn't need to check test was permissible but 'cautious' Ross Brawn did anyway and was given the green light; Mercedes admit asking drivers to run in unmarked helmets was wrong; Insist if they should be charged with Article 151c then so should Ferrari for their Barcelona test, as 'not substantial difference' between 2013 and 2011 cars.
Judging by the latest developments a large portion of Mercedes defence seems to rely on pulling up Ferrari on their test and focusing on their contact with Whiting, I'm still leaning to them being punished heavily I just do not see this standing up.
Ferrari would point to their pull-rod suspension setup which changed in 2012 so there could be no comparison from their 2011 and 2013 cars as its a major change in the development of the car.
wow that was a little desperate from Mercedes. didn't think they would try and palm some blame on Ferrari. Also why does nobody mention other teams running 2011 cars. Red Bull do outings often in the RB7
So Mercedes whole defence isn't "we're innocent" but "Ferrari are guilty of something similar"? hmm, sounds very similar to something I'd say to try and get out of troube when I was 5. It never worked.
Forget "law of the Jungle", looks like Merc's legal team have turned up with "Law of the Jungle-gym..." Exhibit B will be mud slinging followed by Afternoon Break/Reese, Exhibit C will be a game of Tag before the bell rings at 3pm for hometime!
Looks like Red Bull have supplied the FIA with a list of things Mercedes would have gained from the test. I guess that's why Horner is sitting in the corner
It may as well be a bloody primary school hearing. Mercedes saying 'we did it because he did it' and Horner acting as the class snitch by listing everything to get Mercedes into more trouble. Hope they take him round the corner and flush his head down the loo afterwards!
Did Lauda then go over to Ross and Toto to kick them in the nuts just to make sure they've gone down properly?
Interesting that Mercedes have a letter signed by Vettel, Button and De La Rosa allowing them to complete the test on safety grounds for the tyre. So Vettel already knew about it yet he says it's unfair? He must have known the full details of the test otherwise he looks like an idiot.
