    Thank you.

I have also now retired. A few loose ends to tie up business wise and that`s it. 50 years work. I`ve earned me rest.

Random fact, you were born on the same day, same year as Ron Tyson from the Temptations.

No i'm ahead in time, so you'd be 7 hours older.

Can you remember the forerunners of this.

Not many people realise but Torchy was actually Darren Anderton who played for Spurs and England <ok>

BTW, I was once thrown out of the Tufty Club for playing with my nuts too often.

    forgot about Fireball. <ok>

apart from tv I can remember squads of us playing footie in the street, sweating buckets and queuing for a drink at the garden hose or the wash house tap on the wall.

crawling for miles on hands and knees playing marbles, a jam sarnie in one hand to keep you going till tea time.

strewth, we`d have had health & safety in tears.

Never came to any harm though.

they were the `get outside & play` days.

There was a bunch of about 10 of us. We sometimes got into mischief as all kids do but nothing malicious or nasty.

The thing is, if any one of us had a tennis ball there was immediately at least a dozen games we could play.

The first telly in our street was bought for the Coronation, and on the big day the family threw a party in the front garden and everybody in the street had a glimpse of the proceedings through the open front window, the screen was about 5 inches across with a huge magnifying glass in front of the screen, state of the ark technology.

I reckon every young lad did. <laugh>

By the way, regarding your signature, are you not aware of our victory over Liverpool on the 1988 Mercantile Credit Cup at Wembley? So, your signature is an untruth, strictly speaking like........ but we'll not split hairs.

Hope her indoors is on the mend. <ok>

I don't even think anyone on Question of Sport would be aware of the Mercantile Cup mate.

Besides there couldn't have been that much celebrating, there were only about 15,000 at the match.

Anyway, you've put me in me place so I'll change it <ok>

Our lass isn't too well but she's on the mend, thanks for asking ............. she deserves praise for me dodging a bullet yesterday <laugh>
