    Reread the first dozen or so posts. I think I was more right than wrong. A few responses way off the actual strategies used. If you are going to try out tyre wear implications of your setup do it in the first race! Full marks to Renault !!

    Well my analysis was wrong! I'm guessing tyre wear must be lower than a quarter of a second per lap, which is what I based the maths on. If I'm not busy later I'm tempted to try and run my original analysis for a 2 stopper, and see the difference.

    It would appear most of us truly magnificent examples of experts on here including myself have absolutely no idea concerning Pirelli tyre wear, probably neither do Pirelli, or do they !

    We might as well discuss how quickly an ice cream melts if left in the shade.
