I think the fact that everyone is expecting us to play a deep lying playmaker is why they are ruling Ramires out of the central role Mikel - Ramires is the new Makelele - Essien Mikel hasnt been great thus far but lest not forget he was outstanding in the semi and finals of both the FA Cup and Champions League, just needs to have a few words Ramires has gotten a lot better with the ball than when he first arrived and a lot less suspect without it, he has the drive that we miss from the old Essien, he can chase thats for sure and he can dribble and run. 1 problem we have had is Marins injury, meaning Ramires is being used wide instead of where I am guessing RDM wanted to play him, central
Don't think Mirieles was the answer but we have definetely screwed up on our midfield. Mikel is out of form but the right man for his position and should alternate with Romeu. Lamps is totally finished as the midfield general, except as an impact player, where he has a future, but no contract extension.None of the others can control the play. Glaring, obvious situation that should have been addressed 2 years ago. Doesn"t matter who's up front, without good service they might as well stay at home. We now need to reassess our line up and formation and play to our strengths. With Torres as main man, one up front is not going to do it unless we get a monster like Drogba.
He was proper ****ed off when AVB went, so not sure he wanted to be there really. Scored a couple of aboslute belters though...a decent enough player. Reminded me of Belletti...under the radar most of the time and then BOOM...1-0...30 yards...
It doesn't have to be Marin we have Moses too now for the right side. It will be interesting to see what RDM does in the next few games but surely he can't continue with frank....can he
