Was beginning to think this was goin to die a death glad Varney is taking it further

 

Let's see how far he is prepared to go with it. I personally think he's bluffing to get an apology - which KM may well be urged to do to save on the financial side.

 

Maybe a non-apology along the lines of "regret if my words were taken the wrong way".

 

So Varney has issued a statement which basically says his feelings were hurt.

I'm glad he's backed down. Though the whole threat of leaking emails, imposed deadlines etc made him look silly.

He never did address previous plans.

 

If this mysterious backer is so keen on buying Charlton he should find another intermediary who doesn't have Varney's history with Murray.

Something like this. Varney has received huge support from Charlton fans. This shows that No-one believes her, and so his reputation has not been damaged.

 

Not sure - he's been largely ridiculed on Twitter and Facebook.

 

He should just have called her a liar and leave her to sue him if she wanted. I'd have paid money to watch a court case where she tried to prove she wasn't.

 

And I know the perfect judge to arbitrate:
