Carried on reading - and stopped again as soon as I saw ''affordable ticket prices''. I'm sure I haven't missed anything in the next few paragraphs. Absolute ****. Ironically I think this will wind up sections of the fans that were appeased by the signings.
If the 40% increase in player budget had bee spent on 22 championship level players and 18 academy products I doubt that anyone would mind. Its the wastefulness of paying wages to the likes of Tucudean and others that any supporter could see would not cut the mustard in the league. I hear that we have around 60 on the books which probably means 10 worth their wages. Unfortunately you cant play two goalkeepers, three left midfielders, two right backs and three central midfielders since they trip each other up..... Agree, a total waste of breath and Dick Murray must know that it will only make things worse.
So we needed championship experience in the squad? So why have we got a Ryman South level coach from Belgium to manage them? Over to you Richard.....
'The players are trying their hardest but are probably falling just a bit short' Personal fave. How can we be falling 'a bit' short? We're in the relegation zone!! Our GD is -21! Our top scorer has 3 goals!! Only Bolton have scored less goals! Like dick said, time to ramp up protests.
It's as if that came as news to Murray. He has only been on the board for 20 years. Laughable and insulting.
Have come out of a meeting to a flurry of activity on here. I was expecting something big! What a bloody anti-climax, just like Dick, I'm just more angry at this ****house of a board.
Everybody at the club are working to make the second half of the season better than the first? ...... well wouldn't a good first step be to ship in a proper Manager!?
In the same week that all Charlton fans are talking about the protests, the CEO and the Interim One....Murray managed to avoid mentioning the protests, the CEO and the Interim One.
Makienok, Watt, Jackson, Lookman, Reza and Kag are all on three, although that includes goals in the league cup for Reza and Kag.
What I do like is reading social media buzz, no one is buying into what is being said. To quite the most common used phrase "BULLSHIT" Seems like we're not going to stop protesting now.
It's horrible PR. I am yet to read anyone capable of putting a positive spin on it. Is it bad that I'm actually quite happy about that?
How can you give an interview and not mention the four most important things at our Club at the moment. 1 The interim Manager, 2 The Fans protests.3 The League Position and the impending relegation to the wastelands of Div1 4 The complete inadequacy of the CEO. This is a PR exercise and an awful one at that.
It's shockingly amateur. No body for one second also believes OG conducted that interview. Muzza wrote it on his phone whilst KM was negotiating the sale of the remaining assets. Possibly looking at giving Fraeye a pay rise for drawing against Notts Forest too.
The only message I take from this is confirmation that the board think the fans are fools. What was supposed to be a statement by the board was just a few empty platitudes from Murray. There's no sign that The Supreme Leader had anything to do with it. Messrs. Murray and Meire really do think we're stupid.
Always dangerous to try and compare European political parties with British ones, and RD has suffered various incarnations as a politician, but he has never remotely been a socialist. He is a Liberal, but in the correct usage of the term (not the Anglo-American misuse). His own party was more or less Thatcherite (though keen on the EU) but then merged as a junior partner with a centrist party. That combined party has gone from challenging for power to coming a poor third, so his political career is on the same trajectory as his Charlton one.
Judging by the reaction of Charlton social media this afternoon, Murray's interview has gone down worse than Monica Lewinsky. (I do American politics too...)
