To be fair to him Mr Allam has given millions to aid the fight against cancer but agree it would be a nice gesture.
I'm quite reflective and News like this just stops me in my tracks. My kids got an extra hug tonight. Then the fans generosity pledging money - thumbs up to each and every one of them.
Spot on. Sometimes this world is a cruel cruel place. On a positive note, this forum is fantastic for us all pulling together to help those who need it most. Good luck Megan on your fun time at Butlins and seeing your Grandad in Spain. Bless you sweetheart xx
Everytime I visit this thread, I well up. My kids have grown up but when they were both young (aged 5 + 7) they both were hospitalised. My lad (aged 5) needed major surgery and there was no guarantee he would live. He could have come out of the operation and been paralysed. My little princess was 7 and contracted a rare disease. Luckily for us, the experts at HRI did everything in their power to get them better. I have rang my kids today to tell them of Megan. They have both donated. A big thank you to Lamby for highlighting the plight of Megan. I know Megan will get her dream holiday because there are enough people who care.
Snodgrass has just donated £1,535 - legend. The target has been achieved - keep going. Get Megan everywhere.
Statement from HCOSC http://www.hullcityosc.com/events/megan-pratt/#more-4364 "As some of you maybe aware in the lead up to Wembley a young lady captured many of the City fans hearts with her brave attitude to fighting cancer. Many fans groups offered their support to Meg and her family. please log in to view this image Unfortunately news this week from Meg and her family was not what we had all hoped for. Doctors confirmed that her cancer was now terminal. Since the news, many City fans have pledged their support and sent messages to Meg’s family. Ken, Meg’s Dad has asked us to pass a message on, on behalf of the family. He would like to say a huge Thankyou to everyone for their thoughts, well wishes and offers of help. At this time he has asked that the family are allowed some time to come to terms with the news. They are aware that many people have offered their support with regards fundraising to enable Meg to travel to Spain to visit her Granddad. The family have requested that fans try and support one fundraising campaign to allow everyone to keep track of what’s happening and so the family aren’t contacted by multiple people trying to do the same thing. They really do appreciate everything everyone is doing but as you can imagine this is a hard time for them. There is also a request for fans to join in the chant for Megan on the 12th minute during the match on Saturday. The chant, which was created for Wembley, can be found below We would like to encourage everybody to use the following: For online donations: www.gofundme.com/2p5egss For bucket Collections on Saturday please email: [email protected]"
Our players are fantastic. Our fans (well some of them) are fantastic. Our lass does not understand why I spend so much time on here. When I tell her about heart wrenching stories like Megan and the support given from this site she realises that it is more than football. This site is a way of life and I thank you all for keeping me informed (on a daily basis) of all the good, bad and ugly stories. This site is class
