However Craig Hope is a northern based journalist, and this is not the first time that he has written about Newcastle in disparaging terms, he appears to be privy to inside information and it will be interesting to see if the club issues a rebuttal.

Sky News were slagging off the Saudis as Sky Sports happily run ads from KSA - raking the sponsorship in.
The media are up in arms about Saudi involvement in NUFC and the PL yet forget about Sheff Utd and all the Saudi sponsorship flowing into Old Trafford.
I’m sorry but the PL yet again look daft here as they are clearly operating double standards as are the media.
They all either want Saudi in or out, there is no half way house.
Were the press up in arms over the UAE human rights record when City got snapped up?
Were they up in arms when Qatar who have caused 6500 immigrant workers to die building the stadium for the corrupt World Cup were linked with Leeds?
