Sounds like it should have been a comfortable win Filey. Bloody good turn out too. Horrible when you give away late goals ain't it.
Need to defend free kicks better and corners. I had a great time despite the late comeback. My niece is off to Stoke v City . Proud she has become a fanatic despite the ALLAMS. Take care Mr Cambridge I'm always fine
Grantham 1 Scarborough Athletic 0 Don't know much as I don't do away games yet but reading fans comments and listening to interview with manager seems Scarborough had a lot of chances but walshaw (41*) and Coulson (32*) missed the target everytime Manager ripped into Tommy Taylor Scarborough's goalkeeper for constantly kicking long high balls towards Grantham's tall defence... (Tommy is usually a great Goalkeeper )j * = Goals last season Attendance 380 approx 150 from Scarborough . So defeat for City and Scarborough :-( ------------ I did get to see a game yesterday Pickering Town v Colne in fa cup at the flamingo land stadium as Pickering had to play away from their ground because Pickering Cricket Club had a home game Result was Pickering Town 0 Colne 4 I was a Colne fan for the day as I went with my Mac Nurse who is from Colne Colne was 1-0 up second half Pickering liked like they were going to come back playing good till Colne scored on the break and Pickering gave up trying . Colne have another 5 rounds they have to win to get into Round 1 of the Fa cup Yesterday's prize money for the winners was £2,200 , £750 for the losers
Roll on Monday Scarborough Athletic v Whitby Town Whitby fans being known as " cod heads " For some reason
God, that was a day wasn't it and I only travelled down from Leicester. I had to smile and have a joke with their fans after the game. I found that somewhat difficult. Bournemouth people seem too nice to be football supporters in a funny kinda way.
Footy fever hits North Yorkshire Fans desperate to buy tickets from Touts . Or any one with a spare ticket Doubt it's a sell out but club ordered by police to not sell any tickets after 1pm on Sunday . Gates open at 1:30pm Whitby Supporters only let in at the swimming pool end..(the building that holds the swimming pool) so we can't lob them into the swimming pool Crazy but I feel like I did when I went to Wembley first time when CITY played the fa cup Semi Final More crazy is I thought life would end if I stopped going to City.... But thanks to Scarborough , the fans players manager and chairman I was wrong. Club chairman walks around ground and talks to people even in shed end Right best polish my docs for this game Being awake since 5:30 am I am honoured by everyone on here for allowing my thread and being able to keep in touch with EVERYONE NO LIKING THIS POST EITHER ( If anyone was going to ...giving you ALL a compliment is about you lot....not me !!!! )
Not to hijack your thread, but Ferriby picked up their first win of the season today over South Shields, thumping them 3-0 in front of 618 fans. That's got to be an upset by any means.
Bit of a strange game really.. Scarborough went 1-0 up , Whitby equalised and finished the first half the strongest Second half seemed like Whitby wanted to play for a draw and never really troubled Scarborough having a couple of corners and not much else while Scarborough had what seemed like 15 or more corners buy when ever they won the ball it was banged over the bar or walshaw Scarborough top scorer last year ended up facing away from the goal....Will Annan tried hard but again no end result Good defending by Whitby....wasted chances from Scarborough... Walshaw is great at scoring when the ball lands at his feet and he is facing the goal but he is as slow as a cart horse...Scarboroughs downfall so far this season is a lack of pace up front and playing long balls against taller players Still early days yet and I had a great day as always
Great support for Scarborough with around 200 from Whitby Segregation kept fans apart till near the end when some Scarborough fans sneaked into the Whitby end . Useless stewards let both sets of fans out at the same time resulting in big fight in car park and all down the road away from the ground. But Whitby hooligan firm all kids of around 15 to 18 and Scarborough lot much older with most of them Scarborough whites who support Leeds and only turn up for the odd game here and there. Girlfriend who picks me up after game is quite entertained watching people being slung out of ground onto there arses as she's sat waiting outside in car. Typical derby Day really....high expectations off the field but the away team happy to get a point Hyde away on Saturday North Ferriby at home the following Tuesday Surprised how teams are much better then I expected in this division when most have sub 400 home gates.....Whitby average below 300.....suspect someone's putting a lot of money into some clubs Roll on Stuffing North Ferriby
Was there really a scrap or are you on the wind up Filey? Danny Dyer will be down next year filming a new series of footballs deadliest rivals ... keeping his nut down ..
