I still don't know why we have a Swansea JCK on here, or have Cardiff now decided to change their names for Fridays to Cardiff JCK's Anyway Dewi sant Hapus
Cardiff City was originally called Riverside FC and Bristol-born lithographic artist, Bartley Wilson was it's founder and prime mover. The first known colours of Riverside FC were somewhat unusual for the shirts were chocolate and amber quarters and they were coupled with black knickers. An amalgamation with Riverside Albion came in 1902. A request to change their name to Cardiff City but it was refused on the grounds that the club was not playing at a sufficiently high standard. In 1908 they were at last allowed to change the name to Cardiff City. No better than us and one of our citizens started it all off for them, you'd think they would be more grateful...
Sure did not complain Massive, best thing that ever happened to us, wiz & I where all for it then, a name symbolizing our great City...BRISTOL CITY, wonderful!!!
Fck me - the innaccuracy of some poster's information on here is mind boggling. I heard Steve Lansdown was planning a great escape......'ang on a minute - sorry, I've just checked the name, that was Steve McQueen. You've got less bloody chance than him of clearing that barbed wire - the spikes will sure be in your arses if you lose today............. Come back from your Channel Island idyll Nero, and stop fiddling with that bloody violin - we're burning over here!
How could I ignore such a greeting from a fellow Welshman - I should be ashamed of myself............... Please forgive the oversight and have a good game today - even if you are a turncoat..........
It will be St Piran's day on the 5th March being as my dear ol' mum was Cornish I thought I'd share it with you Welsh windbags....... http://www.stpiransday.com/
That's good Wiz as you know you should never forget your heritage. That's why I broadcast the fact that I'm Welsh all the time some laugh at it but to me it's important.
Got that ****er wrong then didn't I My granddad was Bristolian so we naturally followed in his footsteps to support City, but also back in the 70's city used to run a coach service from the forest through Chepstow straight to AG
Just to mention that the BBC are repeating that the rebranding of Cardiff City is only on hold until Mr Tan finds out where the club will be playing next season, what price he will change the name despite the promise he appeared to give?
