Yes but we were away at Wolves when all their fans stood and applauded Okocha. Just a little bit different you see...
This is probably nothing more than Macca saying to SB that he wants to play regularly and SB saying he cannot guarantee it, so Macca saying then he prefer to look for another club. In this case he will have no need to train with the first team squad just keep his fitness up.
I would say, if that's the case, it amounts to poor management. You never know when you might have an injury crisis, you never know if that player will find a new club. For me every first team player should be treated and respected as a first team player until they leave. What if we need to call on McShane now over the festive period? He's likely to tell Steve Bruce he's got a bone in his leg and injured himself anticipating Christmas dinner. Thanks but no thanks, I'll take christmas. Why was Ben Arfa sent away? His performance was poor yes but, no worse than performances of others we've seen over the course of this season and last, he switched off when tracking a runner and cost us a goal, how many times last season did Elmo switch off and cost us a goal? How often was Elmo sent back to Egypt? Why was Ben Arfa played out of position and used as a scapegoat by Bruce when it inevitably didn't work? Why does Bruce single out particular players? Why does he never hold his hands up and admit he made a mistake? Why is it always a/the players fault and why does he always give them a public dressing down in the media? Why are we struggling to fill our bench today?
Sydney, I didn't. In fact I've laid no blame at Brucies door anywhere in that post. I made the point of putting 'alleged' and 'reported' in my original post to outline I wasn't blaming him and in the post you quoted I clearly stated 'I'm sure some have a shorter list and some have a longer one. The only people putting emphasis on the length of the list is you two and Bum. My reference to it being quite a list was actually to the very very strong characters on there. Add Gyan to that list too and he had no control over Cattermole. Forget the length. Didn't even occur to me, why would it? I haven't compared it to anybody have i? I was just mussing whether Bruce can clash with certain characters and if certain characters can clash with him. Not a necessarily a bad thing, it doesn't have to effect his management, maybe he just needs to take a bit more care in who he gets into bed with so to speak, He signs or inherts and keeps a lot of 'trouble makers'. Given some of the names on that list surely you can see in hindsight that the Ben Arfa loan was a bad option and a wasted loan. Maybe he could neglect players who aren't in his plans, there's lots of reports of that too. On Macca, if Bruce claims there's no bust up with McShane, as he usually does then it would be a disgusting way to treat the lad, though he could quite easily hit his limit and spat his dummy with Bruce. Think lads before you decide other peoples sentiments for them. I was just musing out loud. No finger pointing at Brucie at all just trying to get into his psyche to try and Gage an understanding, it's not fact, it's not even an opinion. Just pondering. How could it be anything else? It's a thread based on speculation
If that's the case then I'm not sure why you included club boards? If you're making the point about the personalities he's clashed with?
Players and managers have fall-outs all the time. It's just what happens when you have 25 competitive sportsmen in a tea environment. But McShane broke the golden rule - going public. He's history.
This. He should in the squad somewhere today with the injuries we've got. If Maguire takes his place we know Macca is well out of favour. Training with the U21s is more serious than just not getting games. And talk of his wages comes back to Bruce again. During Maccas renaissance season he publicly said he can have a new deal with the same inflated salary he was already on if we got promoted, which of course we did.
Not factually accurate at this moment (even with the west brom cup defeat we are talking 8 defeats in 17 this season - throw in Europe and it's 9 in 21). Just saying.
A player will never be told to train with the youth squad if he is uninjured and available. Macca is being snubbed as an example to others; he is a very popular player and he is not a piss-head, hard living tosspot, he is a professional and he speaks as he finds, eventually.
Well take a look at some of the characters on those boards who he fell out with and you'll answer your own question fella
I take your point, but I was thinking of 2014, which is what everyone has now focussed on and his results are dire, even with his own acceptance thet he was allowed an excellent summer window!
