Paul McShane will be going, he wants to play football regularly. Its fairly simple. He's not going to get that at Hull City so why sign a contract? He may even take a pay cut to get more regular football. The interview with the Mirror was his initial advert, the tweet said he wasn't going to change his mind. The bridge is not about to get rebuilt, unless I have seriously misjudged his character. If we want some money for him he'll be sold in January, if not he'll walk in the summer. If Burnley are interested, and its not an urban myth, he'll walk into a club with an hard-working ethos and fit right in. He may even help keep them up. Reading some of the comments on here we'll be lucky to get £50,000 for him, I expect more, but nowhere near his value. Some team is going to get a bargain, it'll be our gift. Merry Christmas. ps he should have been sold in the summer when we got Dawson. McShane could have said he wanted regular football, felt guilty about collecting his wages and thank everybody for the wonderful support he's received over the years. Unfortunately its time to move on and good luck for the future. Funny thing is, he would have been telling the truth.
Lets be honest, this has become macca vr junior..... Simple reason junior gets the nod over macca, he can play centre half, left or right centre half of a back three, plus cover as either side full back or defensive midfield. Macca can play centre half or right back only, and we have great cover in rosie for right back. neither are overly blessed with talent, but both hugely committed, only deference is juniors vesitility
The ferryman. Urban myth my arse, we all saw it. You obviously weren't there. Or you know nothing about football.
@bbcburnsy: I hear that Paul Mcshane @pmacca15 is back in the Hull City fold. Not sure of involvement today but maybe the bench? #hcafc
Full Back!? His level of talent is stretched at CB never mind any other position. Playing a player who is terrified of having the ball in CM has also been one of SB's biggest mistakes. Also, if Macca can play CB and RB why would he not be able to play RCB in a 3 when Alex can? Alex Bruce should never have been at the club IMO. Not because he isn't good enough as in the Championship he was, but because it causes too many problems and questions within the squad. Does anybody really think he is good enough to justify the issues caused by having the manager's son in the team?
Couldn't today as I'm in France on holiday but watched the stream and thought he was alright, at one point he was shockingly out of position and if the pass hadn't been played just behind Wood then he would have have been straight in on goal. I maintain that he's not good enough for the premier league, but even if he was having the gaffer's son in the squad is a complication which is not needed.
Couldn't go today but according to the person using my pass there were stories circulating that Pearson is interested in taking McShane to Leicester
I took it that this was the point of your post and not a serious question of his contribution (which is decent). In any case, I believe it has been a distraction, a complication at times and may well increase, although at the moment his contribution remains worthwhile in a team that has an A-Grade in inconsistency throughout. I think a new manager would focus elsewhere before he looked at Alex.
If so it hardly improves their line up, I like Macca but if they sign him it shows a bit of lack of ambition to really improve their squad.
