I don't think McShane will apologise and to be honest I don't blame him. He has not been treated fairly and if he has spoken out it can only be because his patience has been pushed to the limit.

He was pushed out of the team because Dawson returned. How is that not being treated fairly?

He is paid a lot of money to do as he is told.

He may be sick of not playing, but you don't mouth off in public.

You need to re-watch Saturday's game against Swansea, he was, after Meyler, the worst player on the park. The others didn't nearly cost us two goals and his positioning was just awful. He's not good enough to be a Premier League defender week in, week out.

He said he won't sign a new contract because he was dropped from the squad. Sounds like somebody that puts making a contribution to the club above picking up his monthly cheque. He's gone, either January or the summer. Paul McShane is the type of player I want in my team, gives 100%, works hard and is good enough for the Premier League. I'm sure his new club will appreciate him as much of some of us here do.

Something else for you all you McShane isn't good enough to consider. When was the last time McShane was substituted for an injury? When was the last time Alex Bruce was substituted for an injury? Was that a one off or does it happen more frequently? When you're one nil down do you really want to be replacing a defender?

Dawson, but that isn't the real question is it?

The real question is McShane or Alex Bruce?

McShane is always going to be behind Alex Bruce. When Dawson's fit McShane isn't in the squad, Alex Bruce is. McShane could pick up his million or so a year knowing he'll hardly ever be on the bench or play or he can go to another club and earn his money. He's chosen not to stay by refusing to sign a new contract. He'll walk into a new club, either cheap in January, or free in the summer.

Obviously Dawson but what's that got to do with anything? Playing 3 CBs regularly we need a lot of cover and McShane on merit was clearly 4th choice. Given that Dawson is never fit he's usually one of the three best available, and like Obi says, he doesn't go off injured every single week.

No it doesn't. It sounds like a 12 year old having a strop because the manager dropped him.

5 players and the manager all visited a kids ward at the hospital to give out pressies and spend some time with the kids.

    The core of our team.

    Guess who wasn't there?

Players who are suspended and according to some were now going to have a long Christmas break were there.

    McShane wasn't.

    That speaks volumes.

He is exactly the type of player we do not need.

Plus he is NOT good enough for the PL, that's why he's our 4th or 5th choice CB. He's been treated well by the club and allowed to enjoy an extra season in a league he is not good enough for.

Bruce Jnr plays his heart out at least as much as McShane, and is more likely to get injured because he throws his body into the line of fire, something McShane wouldnt do. But you dont seem to feel the need to fight his corner too, which I find baffling.

This post is completely mental. Like one of your CTWD ones, but I had no idea you held this kind of hatred for City players as well as fans.

The merits of him as a player and the effort he outs in are completely irrelevant to his status.

He could be Ronaldo... And I'd still say you don't speak out in public about not being happy. He has clearly got upset and chosen not to articulate that in the proper way.

Whether I think he has a point has no bearing on my post above.

    Calm down princess.

    Hatred?

    That word again.

    I don't hate anyone.

The simple truth here is, we have better players than Macca who, as they should, are being picked to play instead of him.

In the same way you would, he's had a whiny little bitch about it on Twitter, and to the tabloids, and is being, rightly, punished for that. All he's got to do is be the adult he's meant to be, and apologise. If he doesn't that shows a lot about him.

He earns enough money to show a little respect for the mugs who pay those wages to him, but he doesn't. He's acting in a manner which will only serve to unsettle the team and you think that Bruce should suck it up and allow a player to walk all over the manager and the other players, because hes Macca, and we wouldnt be where we are without his awesomeness.

Oh wait, We owe him **** all. He owes us everything.

You, naturally, defend him, yet again displaying your love and respect for anyone or anything that works towards unsettling the players and the team and shows contempt for the majority of fans.

*Yes, that last sentence was supposed to be ridiculous, in the same style as your entire whiny post.

He's decided to leave and put himself in the shop window. If he wanted to stay he'd have signed the contract.

I don't recall Swansea City being a physical game. As a result of Bruce Jnr's injury we brought on Maguire instead of Quinn. Its not the first time Bruce Jnr has had to be substituted during a match due to injury. I would rather have fighters in the team and that includes Bruce Jnr. I think he deserves his place in the squad but think McShane is the better all round player. Bruce Jnr doesn't need anybody to fight his corner, his place isn't under threat, he'll always be 4th central defender ahead of McShane.

He doesn't owe us anything, he's a footballer who is bought and sold depending on how the club feels. He's decided to leave, the Mirror article says he's available and the Tweet says he's on the naughty step and with the U21s. He certain to get another club either in January or in the summer. City will get next to nothing for him, he's our 5th central defender behind Alex Bruce and has 6 months on his contract.

Some club is going to be very lucky and will get him on the cheap.

You may think that's good man management and good business, I don't.

If it's not Burnley, it will be a Championship club. Better to get him off our wage bill then rotting in the reserves.

I see you agree with McShane. If he goes to Burnley he'll strengthen their squad and fit in with their ethos. He may help them escape the three relegation places along with Boyd. If he does help them escape relegation they'll see it as bloody good business.

Playing that false card is a new low for you, Happy, and I find it disappointing that you have decided to live up to what some have been saying. :emoticon-0149-no:

I am in total agreement with you, Obadiah.

There are two points I would make in that I have always been a big supporter of Paul McShane, but I said, on here, many months ago. that he should look at leaving the club, as he is too far down the pecking order - a pecking order that seems to be corrupted by the inclusion of the managers son. (I think the Alex Bruce rallying call for 'players to look in the mirror' is poorly timed.) This is a poor situation and I had hoped the hint of favouritism would never raise its ugly head, but it has - whether or not that is intentional is another thing. As a central defender I would have McShane before Bruce every day, but that is my choice, not the managers.

My second point is that I do believe McShane should either say what his problem is, as invited to do by Steve Bruce, or apologise and get on with what he is being paid to do. I have no room for petulance in professional footballers.

We should keep him while the summer window, whatever the outcome.
