It’d do my head in if everyone just wanted to talk to me about football all the time.

I love the Saturday afternoons, and the build up, but if every single day people were stopping you to talk about football, the club, recent results etc it would drive you mad, especially when it wasn’t going well.

We all need downtime from our work lives, footballers included.

I know but thats part and parcel in why they get paid so much for playing 90 mins of footy once or twice a week and turning up for training 4 hours a day. Its all about taking the rough with the smooth.

Id swap places with anyone of them.
