I struggle to get my mix to rise mate. Do I need to make sure the fat is burning hot first before I put batter mix in?

 

Yes and dont open the oven door to check on them. Keep it closed till their finished

 

I smear butter round the sides of the tin after I've browned the sausages and before I put the mix in. Works a treat that.

 

Breakfast sausages are s hite use proper \Cumberland ones for the dish you can also buy them in a twirl up to 6ft long so imagine that up your hoop.

 

For god's sake don't tell me how you brown them.
