McLean just needs time, today he didnt have any service really and Fryatt didnt have a very good game either. He has scored plenty before and will start scoring for us soon.
 
It's not a new division to him, he scored 8 last season for Peterborough, not bad considering they were relegated.
 
I was not able to get to the QPR, but I watched McLean at Reading and thought he had a good solid game. I was disappointed to see him go off in that game as he was not giving their defence any time to rest on the ball. Extremely committed and did not stop running. Chances will come and so will the goals. Far from the time to start having a go at him at such an early stage of his City career.

Agree with Boothferry2Wembley: anyone who does not make an immediate impact seems to get slated by some quarters. I for one am extremely happy with the way that NP has revamped the squad and looking forward to seeing a full season with his players across the board.
 
Is this the same McLean who scored a 'massive' 8 goals last year? Yeh and Beverley you are still a tosser. I will buy everyone a beer if McLean gets into double figures in goals scored ( that's 10 or more for the ******s). My money will be safe. He is the Captain of the Barn Door Brigade.

You can't complain about someone struggling against the best defence in the division, but they're not really keeping ****tu on the bench. He only rejoined them on Thursday. Before that he'd played 73 minutes of football for Millwall as Birmingham murdered them 4-0 (whilst ****tu was on) since the 10th of December. He was never likely to be starting today.

Yes, 8 goals for a relegated side, just like Jamie Mackie got for Plymouth last season and he was well on for a good haul for QPR this season before his leg was broken.

I agree though, he won't get in double figures for us this season. Koren is the only one likely to now.
 
Boothferry, you need to understand there are 2 types of forward. A "striker" who will finish what others provide. A "grafter" who will work hard to create space for others (midfielders and strikers(see previous note)).
McClean works hard and may well turn out to be a grafter. I am wondering if he will make it at this level too but I dont write him off. I know for one thing, our current forward line is the best since the King/Cousin combo.

seems to me that before we had this pair,things were not looking to good up front,as many a poster pointed out.
i would have thought that after our start to the season,even the doubters would be a little chuffed by now instead of comming out with such inane posts.

Altidore was never going to score many because every time he got within 20 yards of goal the opposition used to foul him. We'd then miss the penalty or waste the freekick.

no everytime het got within 20 yards of the goal the opposition use to tackle him, he then went down like a sack of potatoes and conned a free kick out of them soft premier league referees.
 
neither did i, BL..just commented on yours..ha

he reminds me of ***an at the minute, cant call him lazy, works very hard, not sure hes got championship quality, too many bouncing off the shin,/...id like to see him have the chances fryatt has had so far tho, see if hes any better at finishing....dont think hes helped by the hoofing from back to front either..
