Mclean comes across as a decent and respected team member, its just a pity that things didnt quite work out for him. I still think there is a striker somewhere in him with a bit of coaching and regular games , he could come back to us with a few more goals under his belt and a more complete striker.
Either way I like his work ethic, just didnt score enough goals. Good luck Aaron and thanks.

Does anyone know what his recall terms will be? I could see a time when his endeavour would be needed - a real team player, just out of form for goals.

I like McLean, shame to see him go, but it makes sense for him and us.

Surprised Ipswich have gone for him after the last dressing room joker who left us and went to them...

Bloody hell Guitar, he's 29 years old, if he hasn't become prolific in the top two tiers yet I doubt that it will ever happen. Nice lad, hard worker, never a top quality striker.

Like most on here I really wish Aaron well - he hasn't scored regularly enough but he has scored some belting goals and has always given 100 per cent. A hard working player who'll always keep the opposition on their toes and well worth his place in most Championship squads.

You mean the one who got their player of the season despite featuring in under half the games? I'd say a pretty successful loan, all turned sour after he earns a contract though!

Hi Canada, Hornsea continues to bloom and grow and, thanks to the concrete God, it has not been washed away at all. I see you are in Toronto - safe from the West Coast threat of being drowned in the Pacific together with California. You should come back for a visit - football from the Tigers that is unequaled since the 1960's.

We can't recall him. It's a loan to the end of the season which means it's a long term loan. Long term loans can only end in a transfer window or if a permanent sale is to take place (in this case if we were to sell him to a foreign club). For recent examples of these loans being cancelled early and the player not being eligible for us see Windass to Oldham and Cooper to Huddersfield.

Good luck to Aaron McLean, despite not being prolific, he was likeable.

Now, let's get that vacant striker's spot filled...
