As I said earlier - clearly some people arent as offended as I am about this but if you think saying 'sluts' is "a laugh" think how you would feel if someone said it about your mother / sister / daughter. I suppose that's all there is to say and my point is I do not think it is acceptable for a representative of our club to use that misogynistic tone in a public forum and nobody will ever change my mind about that. There's a simple rule for Twitter, footballers and 'celebrities' in general - dont Tweet anything you wouldnt say in a media interview. I can guarantee if any player came out and referenced 'sluts' in a media interview every single one of you would be on his case. I really dont think there's anything more to say on this - close thread?
I was thinking the other day, if he's the big character behind the scenes and the life and soul of the club, pulling everyone together, he's probably been worth every penny. Nothing worse than most the team being split into their little friendship groups.
Next time Im deeply offended by something a representative of our club says in public I'll keep quiet
Look how many posted on this thread. It's debate and that is generally healthy. The only thing is that other people may not share your views, there is nothing wrong with your view, it's simply that I didn't share it this time, but may the next. If you feel strong enough to start a thread don't hesitate.
McLean is real quality when it comes to harvesting real team unity and spirit and long may it continue. Great to have at the club. Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N Roses i would suggest. Clubs have paid far far more for far far less. I would suggest McLean has been a value for money sign ing. Not everything a striker does is meassured by goals. FFS, some on here want Campbell back.!! Grrr
I assumed when someone said earlier there was another one about bouncers' attitudes towards him when they found out he was a footballer that the one about women being sluts was in the same context. On that basis, it'd probably be fair comment, and in that situation I'd be the one saying something to my relative about how they were acting rather than getting upset about someone calling them a slut because they acted like one.
I agree with the sentiments of BCC here. 'Slut' has never been, and never will be, a compliment. It is not intended as that. Aaron Mclean, as a Hull City player, is an ambassador for the club. In public, he represents them and it is up to him to make sure he does that correctly. Much like any of us on here in our day-to-day jobs. So, to that end, I would suggest it's ill-advised to utter words like 'slut' on Twitter to however many thousands of people he chats **** to. It reflects on Hull City. Just like if I were to go on Twitter, announce who my employer is, and start calling women splitarses, or some such other derogatory term. Just what I think.
Well other than the fact you've totally missed what he was talking about, and taken it totally out of context, and given a terrible example that's got nothing in common with what he was talking about. Yeah apart from those minor points, spot on.
