So you have what you call a half decent manager doing well with one of the bigger clubs in a very poor league and that tells you?? What exactly??

"oneforthebristolcity, post: 8912854, member: 1001243" So you have what you call a half decent manager doing well with one of the bigger clubs in a very poor league and that tells you?? What exactly?

maybe there is one heck of a lot of truth in "since Coppel" what the rumours and fans on here have sussed out "in rotten barrels, clue, apples no" are the basic foundation we trying to build on ...
As for the prem in Scotland well they do well with the population they have, Wales have they got a prem league ...ummmmmmmmm NO but maybe 4 or 5 teams in the ENGLISH LEAGUES, NI have well ummmmm ... As for knocking Scotland, well they used to have a half decent team that mostly played in England.. now like ENGLISH teams where the majority of the players are foreign , Scotland is doing the same, and those better scots who used to play south of the border and play against a more regular level based team structure are not getting a look in.. pick any euro team and see where their better players are based .. gosh the premiership...
    and managers following suit ...

" As for knocking Scotland, well they used to have a half decent team"

I'm not knocking Scotland or the reasons behind why the league is so poor, just the fact that it is...."Used to be decent" but no longer are!
I agree with your explanation as to why and unfortunately it's now the nature of the beast.
But the argument regarding what Del is doing with Aberdeen remains the same, yes he is doing well with them in a very poor league. That's not to say he's not a good manager, but also doesn't prove that he's that good either..
If his ability is considered by another championship club to be worth a punt (in a decent league) and he is successful. then there will be grounds to title him a good manager from a decent league........................In my opinion!!

The SPL is one of the dullest leagues in the world. A 2 horse race with one now in the league below. Several championship like teams and the rest like league 1 teams.

I will bet he hasn't seen a game north of the border ... if you were blind folded taken to a game had head phones on one team played in white the other in black and everyone wore the same colour, red to support their team you wouldn't know what league you were in ...... the give away would be the crowd number or the stadium .. I' ve seen some fantastic games UP THERE, and some pretty s*** ones down here .... there is a big divide mainly due to cash ... few years ago Livingston had some cash and were near the top of the premier ... ross cty and ICT furthest teams north now have a little and .....
