    Sometimes you're quite funny Massive!
I'm happy with the news though, despite what everyone must think, I didn't have anything against the guy personally but just thought he was way out of his depth.

The new manager will be one of the most important decisions this club will make in years so has to be right.

    No more cheap options.

I always said it...Gary Johnson will come back to haunt us, doing a great job at Yeovil....best manager we have had since Alan Dicks.

I'm very sad for Derek Mcinnes.
I consider that he has been let down badly by the senior players he inherited at Bristol City and with the size of squad he had left to him and the length of their contracts, he was always on a hiding to nothing.
He has done a good job within the financial restraints to sign the quality players he has done, with one exception - Morris. It remains to be seen how they will perform for another manager. But the amount of dross left by previous managers was too much for him in the end.

So now the king is dead and long live the king. It just remains for us to find another king.
Personally I think the best available option six weeks ago went to Ipswich - Mick McCarthy.

On a personal basis I would not like to see Billy Davies, jumped up little twat who bullies everyone because he is paranoid about his lack of inches or Signor di Canio with his fascist tendencies.
And mentioned above, Paul Tisdale of Exeter, if Mcinnes struggled to cope at Championship level then would he be any better having only managed at League One & Two?
So unless the club have someone lined up, which I doubt, it's take your pick from all the out of work, failed, or some other unproven name from the lower reaches.

Di Matteo would be wonderful but would he really stoop so low in terms of quality and salary?
How about someone with a bit of passion as a City player Sean Dyche, recently installed at Burnley?
Or his predeccessor at Burnley, Eddie Howe?
Only one ex City player could be in the frame - Keith Curle?
Or are we back to Robins for the Robins?

Oh my beloved City how you struggle for success which never comes. Will it ever change? I just treasure the memories of the brief periods when good times are at Ashton Gate; 1955, 1965, 1976-79, 1982 when the road back started. And the trips to Wembley for the Mickey Mouse cup

And the odd and infrequent promotions since then with some 25 years of totally abject unachievement under a succession of managers who probably all did their best but were beaten by the curse of Ashton Gate.

Didn't know who Mcinnes was when he joined and stiill don't know now what his football philosophy is. No idea what City team shape was or is. High lines, deep lines, vertical or horizontal, no idea.

Honestly thought he was staying, which makes the dithering too long AND letting him spend more money odder still.

His demise will galvanise a section of support.
