It seems Shef Weds problems are over. David Mcgoldrick has signed on a one month loan. He could do well at this level.:emoticon-0105-wink:

Strange and sudden drop from being a sub at St Mary's replacing the handy Miller... to being shoved out on loan a division below. Smells like a falling out between him and McLaren... or Forest know they have a couple of loan strikers coming in themselves.

McGoldrick has all the attributes to be a top striker, he just can't put them all together enough to show it. He probably is better in a "Lallana" role than leading the line.

Absolutely. I remember when people were calling for him to be in the Saints team. In the reserves he couldn't stop scoring - 44 goals, in one season, wasn't it..? But he was brought on too fast, and he left because we needed the money. I had high hopes of him and Dexter Blackstock. Neither appear to be the McClaren type player.

I agree, I just posted about him on the "worst" player thread. He was ok/good technically, and did score a few championship goals for us in a very young side that got relegated. When Forest signed him a friend asked me if he was any good, and I said not as an out and out striker, but as a supporting striker, then yes. I think he got bad press with our fans because he was a bit of a big time charlie.

to be fair, Dexter is still injured .. I think.

Never liked his attitude; I remember one of his last games, the only time he moved quicker than a jog was when he was substituted with 30 mins left in the game He sprinted off with his head up and his chin jutting forward from the Kingsland side of the pitch to the Itchen touchline - he could not wait to get off the pitch.

I think I remember him scoring a screamer in an April home game against Palace to give us a 1-0 win, it was a great strike! Hope he does well at Wednesday.
