A good read. MM can certainly talk the talk. I so want him to walk the walk now.

MM said....
“The Chairman and I are on the phone all the time, he is very keen to help in anyway he can in terms of supporting me to bring someone in.

He is also very sympathetic and realistic about the situation. Like me he was disappointed with certain individuals the other night, and there is not much we don’t agree on. We are working together to get to a point where things will improve.

Every single game we play we want to win, and every time we don’t win I am hugely disappointed and embarrassed regardless of the circumstances of how you lose the game.

I have the fans at the top of my priorities. I think the players are here for the fans, and I am here for the fans, and I will always try and do the absolute best I can for the fans, but I can only do that with what I have.

I will expect the ones who let us down the other night to do better, and if they do better we might get a result.

What isn’t acceptable is, whoever the 11 are, is not giving 100%. If they get beat giving 100% I know the fans will be a little bit sympathetic.

But they are right not to accept anyone out there not giving 100% especially under the circumstances.

I think they were three or four the other night who really didn’t come up to the mark, and I think the fans have every right to be angry and critical, and I understand the first point of call for that criticism should be me, as it is my job to get them at it.

But I am not going to allow players who aren’t 100% committed to do me in, I will deal with it. If these payers are letting us down, they will not be here for long, as I intend to be here for as long as I possibly can, and I am not going to let players undermine that.

Regarding Alefe Santos, it would be unfair to throw Alefe in at the deep end on Saturday. I thought he did brilliantly on Tuesday and he demonstrated what enthusiasm and freshness young players can bring.

And I hope he embarrassed one or two of the others who didn’t quite show that, they have got nowhere to hide".

<applause> The bit I highlighted.... round of applause to MM with that! A great interview overall in my opinion. You dont see many managers coming out attacking players like this. He is fighting his corner. Lets hope he dont lose the dressing room over this though. Doesnt look like Higgs will stand for it and is fully behing MM to get rid of players.

What do you think?

What he says is, as always, spot on.
But he's been manager for over 40 games now.Why are some players not
putting in the effort? Most of them are players he brought to the club!
One of his jobs as a a manager is to motivate.
He doesn't seem to have that skill.

Fair play to him, but ultimately he is failing. He needs to get those he is referring to out the door and sharp, otherwise they will get him the sack!

Interesting to see what 49 says, but I dont think its all that easy. When players are brought into the club the manager may have a good feeling about their playing ability, but if they are moaners and groaners on the training ground, then that realisation may come too late. In the old days of regular reserve team football players who weren't giving 100% could easily find themselves playing in front of a very small crowd with the club's kids.
I used to work with an international coach (not football). He was an arogant sonofabitch., but he had ways of making sure that those players who didn't pull their weight came up to the mark. Mind you they slagged him off after he had moved onto pastures new and couldn't make them pay for their comments. Bit like the guy at Blackpool slagging off Ollie who probably gave him a hard time!

I wonder if the new guy, Branston has a reputation for kicking ass in the dressing room!

I think from his comments that MM is determined to turn the Club around and be around for a fair while.

I am not for sacking MM agree he can certainly Waffle. He is Scottish though!!

Time to face up to realities the team is a collection of individuals and shambolic, which is why we are losing,he needs to find a formation and position that each individual is comfortable playing in on a regular basis to create a team ethic.

MM statement-I will expect the ones who let us down the other night to do better, and if they do better we might get a result.

Very telling comment from MM.................we might get a result

Not at all positive for the match on Saturday. If we do not get a result then we will drop into the relegation places if other results go against us.

He talks a great game, but he really needs to motivate his players, ensure they understand what is expected of them and overall get the best out of them. At the moment he isn't doing any of that and plays too many players out of position. I would like him to stick around, but not in the Conference!
