The 3 seasons he scored more than 10 were in the 3 seasons before joining us.. So yep, not a fit in our style of play.

Well he is and he isn't, point being that if you sign the right player you can get the benefit of a big lad upfront without having to play **** football.

Im calm mate, im just responding to your comment in the same manner that you replied to mine.
It made no sense whatsoever where you suggest Wyke is a proven League 1 striker (Which he isnt), and that target men dont score more than 15 goals a season (They do).
We signed Grigg from the Championship didnt we?
All in all our striker signings this season have been shyte. Weve spent 1m on a 26 year old Cart horse that up until 2 years ago had never played above league 2. Nearly 4m on an injured striker that cant play alone in the system Ross wanted to play, so he dropped him for the Cart horse, and we took a young kid on loan from Spurs for no reason whatsoever?

Sad thing about Sterling is I thought he looked useful but couldn't hit a barn door!! Took his one goal well but we played at home and Wyke had a chance on his wrong foot dropping over his shoulder on the stretch and hit the bar - the crowd got straight on his back. Loads around me (my Dad being the ringleader)

Same game, around 15 minutes later Sterling cut through the defence and had a clear path to goal - put his foot through the ball and hit it 20 yards over the crossbar - far easier chance than Wyke's - the crowd - applauded him for trying! Not a soul got on his back and, if I was in Wyke's shoes, I'd think "What's the point"

I see where your coming from but i think after paying 1m for Wyke and him being alot more experienced than Sterling we all had higher expectation levels for Wyke than we did for Sterling who was just a bairn.
I never actually realised how poor Wykes stats were until i looked them up yesterday. He has never been prolific in his whole career other than his 15 goals last season in his first ever season in League 1. I think he is just a bang average league 1 player that we have paid over the odds for so we were all hoping/expecting him to get better but in reality he probabaly never will considering he's nearly 27 now.

Agree about Wyke - as you say - average league 1 player. But we have a few of them on our books!

He's not another one of those "He'll come good with experience" - who was it loads used to say that about?
