Be interesting to see what Newcastle get up to with a top manager like Benitez in place, also he's not been at a club like that for years.

A massive club that should be competing in Europe, with the best fans in England obviously.

It'll all be new to him that.

It's actually going to be interesting to see how much of a difference he does make with those players. If they suddenly went on a Leicester style winning streak, the Mags fans should be really ****ed off with the ****s drawing a wage as footballers every week.

Can't see it mind. You can't polish a turd, and rolling it in glitter just makes it a sparkly turd.

The whole essence of Club Management is surely getting your players to play as a TEAM. This will be Benitez' task when he settles in. The old adage "A team of 'stars' don't necessarily make a 'star' team". Ranieri appears to have done this at Leicester without bringing in some 'star' larkers but has got the team working as one. Sir Alex was magnificent at doing this and if I remember right didn't he bring, Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, Butt and the Nevill Brothers through from the under 14's. If they weren't used to playing together by the time they hit the first team then nobody was. Benitez has some talent at Newcastle but it needs someone to bring it all together and devise some 'team' tactics to put it into practice. Allardyce hasn't done it at Sunlun but has had little or nothing up front with Fletcher and Graham (both now gone). I think we have the potential here at Hull City but are a few noodles short of a stir fry (particularly up front) to make it more successful but we really cannot grumble to be where we are with what we have had to work with.

Slightly smaller in stature than he's usually at, Newcastle are no Inter/Liverpool

I think its on Sky here so will be watching. He'd probably be the perfect manager to thwart Leicester tactically but I wonder if he would let the assistant take charge for that one

I still hope Leicester beat them…. he can start winning after then for me..!!!….. I want the big 4/ 5 crying at season end that a team with a supposed worn out manager, a team of misfits, free transfers, on their last club and cost under a million and now worth (£30 million) players on probably £25/£30k a week beats prima donna, diving, cheating, I've been shot rolling puffs playing for other clubs on £200k a week.

See this sort of paranoia is the problem with you these days. Go back and have a look - when you mentioned Benitez, how many people replied? ONE. And out of that huge total, how many ridiculed you? ZERO.

You just had a rambling discussion with Stockholm, who expressed doubt that Benitez would go to Newcastle. (And during it you said net spend didn't matter, which is a remarkable statement.)

It seems to be a different poster each time, that's all.

Net spend over 6 years doesn't matter when I was talking about Ashley opening his cheque book this season, how is that ridiculous? 6 years is an incredibly arbitrary period to look at.
