I hope your bones are just reacting to the cold. I wouldn't be surprised if they relieve him of the head coach position but keep him on the football board. That way they get out of paying him compensation and McClaren saves face.
I would hope that the lack of any news is because they are sorting out a replacement and want to announce this when they announce Tufty has been sacked, anything else is a disgrace.
I'm beginning to think that as a result of the clubs complete inability to act swiftly we are stuck with Steve mclaren for the Leicester game. The inevitable defeat will be followed by more post match interviews and the usual "we where difficult to beat" and "we are doing things right behind the scenes" being burped all over the media channels and then the usual silence until it gets to late. I mean has it come to anyone's thoughts that maybe us getting relegated triggers a contract clause which means he gets the sack without any compensation. This effectively saving the club money. I'm pretty sure relegation would also trigger massive reductions in players wages and subsequent disposals of players to the tone of 30-40 million plus. This added to the parachute payment means in the first season in the championship we won't be any worse off...... Then we have cleared all the deadwood. Then he expects us to bounce back at the first attempt and low and behold no damage to the club. But the problem is we won't just bounce back.
LOLS, I honestly dont think they have, I dont reckon there's any triggers in anyone's contract. I dont think Charnley thought we would be in this position and it really isnt that funny because if we do go down, we are gonna be stuck with any player who doesnt wanna go. When we went down first time, we still paid Colo 80k a week, Barton and Nolan probably on 40-50k We wont manage it this time, not with the players, coaches, managerment and ownership in place, we will become Bolton or Leeds.
The three other clubs at the bottom will be desperate for us to keep McClaren as manager. With him at the helm we are going down. Getting shot of him now is our only hope of staying up.
I just can't help but picture the meeting taking place among the board right now. Steve is on the board. So is he sat there going: "Well I don't think we should sack me. We need to give me more time" says Steve "Look Steve its time to do the honorable thing and step down, the club need to move on" says Charnley "I don't know if we sack the manager, I don't agree. We've given me a healthy budget I think we need to see this through to its conclusion" says Steve "Come on Steve you don't need to draw this out any longer! Do the right thing. The rules state the decision must be unanimous" says Charnley "Ask Graham what he thinks and come back to me" Says Steve "Well Graham? Graham, are you asleep you old fool? Graham? GRAHAM?!" says Charnley "What, what..er..yes lets sign another young french attacking midfielder, I have just the guy" says Carr "Well I think you'll find that's conclusive Lee, Graham wants to support me further in the transfer market, lets all work together and get out of this mess" says Steve
Hopefully, they're still digging a deep, deep hole somewhere. Well, St James is supposed to be on the top of an old pit. So, perhaps. Just perhaps...
