Yes results have improved but why ? Our illustrious manager has regularly fielded the wrong formation, been outhought constantly during games and the only time things change are when he is unable to field his beloved formation which strangled the fk out of the team. Its no coincidence that this new formation stops us being overrun but he was too blinkered to see it or too arrogant to admit his failings. Its lovely to see us being competitive, but not because of a genius at work. Still McCann out for me, he constantly fails to inspire me with confidence, and I suspect our incoming owner and DoF will feel similar.
The only difference now, is that it isn't a desperate need to stop us falling back down to L1. The new regime can take their time, do it right and replace him in the summer. Which is why I think you'll see grant here till summer. Couple of signings in Jan ( CF and experience at the back ) will see us to summer where a proper re build will happen.
I think currently we have momentum on our side which is obviously a good thing, but we also have to be mindful that we are only 4 points above the drop zone. I don’t see any need for rocking the boat now when a new manager could come in and destabilise things. Not saying that would happen, the opposite could of course, but there’s always a chance.
Ask yourselves.... is GM where we want to be at the start of something potentially great for the club... Through no brilliance we have had a run of results... had Coyle been fit then you know where we would be at... and finally, even with this run of results, someone pleased update his post B&G departure Championship record... oh and finally finally, you all seem to forget he's an arrogant ****
Yes, right now he's exactly what we need. There's zero rush and we need to get through the season. Irrespective of what you think of him, the players clearly like him a lot and they're putting in a right shift for him. We need a pretty big overhaul to the squad as it's paper thin and relies on a couple of key players. Get to the summer and see where we are. Although if we sign a half decent Centre forward in Jan, there's no reason we can't be pushing top 10 this season.
Why on earth Mac did not bring on Tom Hudds yesterday, for me it was the obvious choice. The need for experience in the last 10-15 mins was what the game was crying out for. His tactics leave a lot to be desired…..
So where would we be with Coyle fit -? watching him tear forward put curled crosses in to two statues - or lose the ball after a 60 yd run - and be caught out of position by a half decent winger - he’s energetic but he’s not THAT good. I don’t think he’s arrogant - he’s stubborn yes so this run of results is totally not of his doing ? I gave him about10-15 mat he’s for him and the players to adjust and they just about have despite two very limited forwards .
Alas I don't subscribe to he's got a few good results so lets keep him mentality .. you may .. I don't. If there had been full backs available we'd be rock bottom playing 433 and getting nowhere fast. Or are you suggesting he has miraculously turned this round with his astute tactical awareness, he has admitted to himself that his beloved system was wrong or he has had an epiphany ? If so your more short sighted then a mole !
You hopefully watch us enough to know we'd be back to 4.4.2 and sorry, as you have your opinion..... HE hasn't adjusted, these changes have been FORCED upon him... and he even now would tell you we haven't changed formation...
Yeah that’s true , I think there’s too much liking of Coyles energy and enthusiasm and not enough of his ball control and awareness that’s all.
Are you suggesting it's not vitally important anymore to not get relegated? I'm struggling with that suggestion if that's what you mean? A 3 year plan to reach the PL would be most likely in tatters instantly.
Sorry probably didn't word that in the best way, I ment at the beginning of Nov when shota was being offered the role and grants/his team's compo was being agreed... We where In dire form and only heading one way ( back to L1 ) but after the run we have had, we don't look a relegation team and grant has turned the form around... I think the results of the Xmas period will decide it one way or another. It's just not the desperate need to change and stop the rot as it was a few weeks ago
