Syd.... there is no way this club will instantly go out and buy even £1 million players... this is why McCann has to go now... the team have eeked out of a few results and credit to them, but dropping 2 points yesterday was ultimately criminal, let alone the fact as someone highlighted 12 conceded from corners... make no mistake, new owner or DOF, we are still in the **** unless something changes...

Who said that's what they're going to do? New manager just unsettles a side further that is evidently playing for the manager. Someone like Gayle in from Toon on loan or another reasonably quality forward and we'll start converting a lot more chances and pull up the table. Then can do a proper window in the summer.

    I disagree
A footballing man as dof will be scratching his head at terrys management strategy and decisions. We dropped two points yesterday because of him.

Who's to say they wouldn't get better instantly under a new manager... 'new manager bounce'...

Quite possibly, but I think while on an undefeated run of results changing manager doesn't make much sense, but I guess we'll see.

It’s a good idea bringing Gayle in but I reckon it’s highly unlikely we would go to that level of wages.

Totally agree. A proven No 9 would be a huge step in the right direction. Still also believe we need an experienced centre back

Depends if Acun wants to make a splash with a big name to give us a bit of credibility and attention in the league, or spread across 3-4 lower level additions to lift the squad. I could see either approach working.

Very true, personally I would stick with him as he has the players playing for him, at least for the rest of this season. But I just can't see the new owners sticking with him for any length of time, it's likely Arveladze will come in at some point, probably sooner rather than later. If it is true that they have a 3-year plan to get us back in the EPL, then most of the players currently in the squad are not going to be around.

I was actually having a think, who do we genuinely think isn't good enough/can't improve enough in the right environment?

Wilks, Magennis, Elder, Coyle, Smallwood probably out of the XI; Cannon, Moncur, Eaves, from the squad, maybe Ingram too.

Of the squad yesterday, assuming we could get Baxter and Longman on permanents, it'd be something like:

    Baxter
Greaves - [new signing] - [new signing]
[new signing] - Honeyman - Docherty - [new signing] - Longman
    KLP - [new signing]

[New signing GK] - Jones - McLoughlin - [full back] - [midfield signing] - T. Smith - [new signing fwd]

Roughly something like that. Players like Jones, McLoughlin and Smith I'm assuming can improve in the right evironment, but may also need to be upgraded, and then we may not see Longman and Baxter in on permanents anyway. So other than Honeyman, Docherty, Greaves and KLP I wouldn't be surprised to see an entirely new XI if/when we're making a serious tilt for promotion.

I might be forgetting someone obvious..

The players should be playing for whoever is manager/coach irrespective of whether it's Terry or not!

Indeed, they should, but we have seen many cases whereby the coach/manager loses the dressing room, as the players lose faith in them.

It needs to be that and a right-sided defender. Jones can't stay fit, Bernard is OK but the weak link in our current back 3, contrary to some of the hype. Bit of experience in there to help us stop conceding from set pieces would go a long way.

Don't disagree John, but I'm not impressed by Terry plus don't believe we are club filled with big egos at present

Yes, I think that is credit to him, what players he has brought in seem to be good characters, so he has a harmonious dressing room.

We haven't had a dressing room like this since the 08 promotion imo

Nope, this season and last is the best and most together squad atmosphere we have had since 08... imo

    Other are free to disagree
