As I've said many times, I wouldn't want Allardyce at Fulham, but if Southampton do go for him, I'm sure he'll keep them up. Hopefully they'll look elsewhere.

Loved this, a good old fashioned drop ball which you don't see anymore. Plus our boys got the better of Scott Brown so thats always nice.

    Home Ownership at QPR ?

Hammersmith & Fulham Council has called on QPR fans to lobby their owners to hand over the ownership of the club to the fans so it can remain in the borough.

please log in to view this image

"A Hammersmith & Fulham spokesperson said: “We’ve had many meetings with Tony Fernandes and his team. He’s lobbied us to turn the current QPR stadium into housing and even lobbied us to add in the nearby council homes on Batman Close so he can become one of the biggest developers in White City – one of the hottest development neighbourhoods in the country.
We’ve been extremely clear that we will never hand over people’s homes on Batman Close to any developer and cannot give any land away for free. If QPR’s owners won’t put their money where their mouth is and invest in the current stadium we’ve offered to consider other options such as renting other sites.

“We think this is a crunch point for QPR. We call on the owners to put the club and its fans first. We love QPR but don’t see it as our business to help QPR’s owners engage in property speculation.”

What a good game the Man City v Tottenham CL game was, but in the end was an anti-climax with VAR spoiling the drama and not really picking out the crucial handball for the Tottenham goal. Beggars the question will it sanitise the game too much ?

I thought VAR got both big calls right. It hit Llorente's arm, then his leg, but the arm was in line with his body and not in an unnatural position. In other words, it didn't have an effect and wasn't intentional. The ref that BT had on hand as a specialist pundit saw it that way too. Hard luck for City, and I can understand them feeling hard done by, but I thought the VAR at the end made for an even more dramatic climax.

Interesting to see Jose Mourinho at Lille v Nimes game sitting in the stand taking notes, which would suggest he has already got a job for next season. Lille are probably the only other team apart from PSG who have decent players who could do a job in the Premier, I like their keeper Mike Maignan & Nicolas Pepe, if only we were Premier. Also Mourinho was at the Fulham Everton game, could he have been checking out Anguissa or Seri. Latest rumours have been about taking over at Celtic, but I can't see that, could it be PSG or Monaco?

Wanted to share this somewhere, and this is the only place I've got that isn't too public locally. As some of you know, I manage an under 12s team, and we've had a tough season. Last year our league had three 10-team divisions, and we were in the bottom one. We had a great season and earned promotion. This year they reorganised and went for two 15-team divisions, with us in the top one, effectively going up two divisions and bypassing most of the teams that had been a division above us the previous season. If I tell you that with just one game to go (on Sunday) we're on 4pts, with the win only coming last Tuesday, you'll get an idea of the difference in level that we've faced (it was a great seeing the boys' faces when we got that win thought!)

Anyway, in January one of our best players (with the most troublesome dad in the team) was poached by one of the other clubs in the league. He went to training with them before anyone - parents or the other club - bothered to tell us what might be happening, which is completely against league rules. the league told them that they weren't allowed to have trials for players signed on with other clubs. We could have delayed the move by a week, but we waived the right to do that, because what's the point in stopping a 12-year old boy from playing football? The players left, and then two weeks later another of my best players (well, his mum), told me that he was also having a trial with the same club. Fortunately, there is a league rule against any club taking more than one player from another within 28 days of each other, and by the time the 28 days was up, the window for players swithcing clubs had closed, so the second player stayed with us. If he'd gone, I think the domino effect with other boys seeing two of our best players leaving may well have seen the team fold mid-season - we lost another player as a direct result of the first departure as it was.

That's all background. Today I heard (and I don't know if it's true or not) that the poaching team are folding for next season. Apparently several of their players don't like the way the coaches treat them and the coaches have upset several of the parents. I'd like to say I feel sorry for them, but I'm not sure that I do.

An example of the times we now live in Captain. Get it that kids benefit from coaching. Get it that Leagues give kids something to play for. What I don't understand is adults who believe they are Mourinho and get involved purely for their own self gratification.

Absolutely Cottager. Lots of the managers of other teams I encounter are in it for the right reasons. When you meet one who sees winning as the be all and end all, that tends to be more about their ego than what's best for the kids. My team's record this season shows that we're not all about winning (either that or I'm just not any good at it!)

Felt like blowing my own trumpet, so apologies if I'm becoming the pub bore! A couple of weekends ago I had the final block of teaching for my level 2 coaching qualification, and this week one of the tutors came to observe my training session with my team, and I passed. They give you three years from starting the course to get up to the required standard, so a fail wouldn't have meant the end of the world, just to work on the specifics I was short on and then get him back for another go, but as it turned out, I nailed it! Really chuffed about it and raring to go for next season, not least because the boys move up to full sized pitches and 11-a-side.

Chris Coleman has been sacked by Hebei China Fortune, the club he took over 11 months ago.
Hebei are one place off the bottom of the Chinese Super League with only one win in nine games this season.
Coleman took over last season when the club was in relegation trouble and took them to sixth place, but this year lost players and did not get replacements.
As they lost 3-2 at home to mid-table Henan Jianye on Saturday, disaffected fans held up a banner which read: "Hello Mr. Coleman, please go home! You're fired!!!" and in Chinese said: "Coleman, your mum wants you home for dinner."

Villa’s promotion means the last year of Ross McCormack’s contract will increase from £44k to £70k per week.

He’ll be 33 before the season starts. His last goal for them was in 2016 and he’s only ever scored 3 goals for them since leaving Fulham. He cost Villa £12m.

Would be nice if they'd now pay over the £6m they still owe us.

I don't know what you guys think, but I think it is disgusting that tonight's Europa Cup final is not on terrestrial TV. You would have thought that putting the game on in the back of beyond was bad enough. At least ours was on TV. Just another example of money ruining the game.

Lookman is going to remember that penalty miss against West Ham for the rest of his life.
I remember a game where I had to go in goal because our keeper didn't turn up. It was 1st v 2nd in league on hard pitch at the Wormwood Scrubs Rec, with the wind blowing a gale. We were 1-0 up, their forward ran through but hit a poor shot, I dived, I had it covered until it hit a divot and took off in the other direction (wind assisted) over my out stretched leg. I'd saved 4 other decent shots, but that didn't matter, the manager was not pleased. we drew 1-1, there were 3 other times I had to go in goal that season and we won them all and won the league.
But I still replay that goal in my mind wishing I'd stayed on my feet longer instead of diving. :(

Ok who else chuckled when they announced that Raneri was the new Watford manager?

Watford must have signed more managers than players in recent years.
    It's Raneri's time to tinkle............

Sad news about Fred. My all time favorite Fulham player. He epitomized Fulham for me 100 percent effort, great heart and a sense of humor. You sensed that for him football was important but life was more important. He played football with a smile and character. RIP Fred.

Sad to hear George Cohen has past away. Like Fred Callaghan the epitome of what Fulham is truly about. To lose both in the year is tragic. We have lost 2 of the all time Fulham greats.
