I've received my new card yesterday. Now sitting with a group of work friends in the Hammersmith End. Not sure why they leave it so late though. It's more than slightly irritating.
Hmm .. not sure. All the pundits sang his praises saying how wonderful he did at Everton on a shoestring budget. That was complete nonsense. Whilw he was with them, Everton made a shed load of money from selling players and Moyes spent most of it on replacements. He won't have that luxury at Sunderland. And what about Hull? They are in a right old mess. Owner's son running things; selling players; not buying players; no concessions on ticket price; Managerless (Cookie Coleman has just turned them down). Turning to the Championship, what about Wolves ? New owners; buying players like there's no tomorrow (or FFP!); sack Jacket and appoint Walter Zenga a week before the season starts. Zenga made a bumpy start at his introductory press conference, saying he decided to take the Wolverhampton job because: "Why not? Wolves are the biggest team for us in Italy." please log in to view this image The club did post later on their official site that, "his English will quickly improve but is already good for someone who neither played here nor previously occupied any of our technical areas. As occasional support to certain words and phrases, as his countrymen are colourfully inclined to do, he uses hand signals." This now the ex-Milan and Italy goalkeeper's 16th job in 18 years. Could he be the new 'Mad Magath'?
Meanwhile, back in the Premiership - for all you Fantasy players - Swansea are making a right fist of it. They're about to lose Ashley Williams to Everton and have already let Bafetimbi Gomis go to Marseille. Apart from anything, means they don't have a striker, of any description, which makes you wonder why they haven't shown any interest in McCormack. Or maybe not!?
Well taken penalty, which put Celtic through in Europe. What about Joe Lewis, where this tonight blooper put Aberdeen out
£89m for Pogba. £75m for Higuain. £48m for Stones. £32m for Bailly. £28m for Bolasie. £20m for Ayew. £13m for 31 Pelle. £12m for 31 year old Ashley Williams. The world's gone mad.
Rough night for your other team in the Super Cup Fulhaman please log in to view this image An equaliser by Madrid in the 93rd minute and their winner 1 minute from the end of extra time. Bit of a Jinx cup for you.
Third year in a row. Unbelievable. Very unlucky, shame we had a player sent off - might just have made it to penalties if we hadn't.
Blinking 'eck, does FFP really exist? "The Football Association have reportedly accepted Wolverhampton’s request to register Anderson Talisca in the Championship. According to Wednesday’s edition of O Jogo, the Brazilian midfielder is now only waiting for his work visa to be granted so he can finally fly to England. The 22-year-old had his permit registered as a “young talent”, which fits the rules because of the price paid for him, which will be €25m." Jamie O'Hara has signed for Gillingham please log in to view this image Looks like a fair bit of Photoshopping has gone on there! Will resist adding a few comments about player and club since that would only reflect a sense of prejudice.
Aye, although I'm over here at the moment and have been since just before the Newcastle game. I am making the most of it and going to the Cardiff game on Saturday. Sevilla haven't gelled yet really, what with one transfer and another, but they will. Our first match is next week at home against the other team from Barcelona then away to Villareal. The first match I will be back for is at home to Las Palmas.
Well, if you do, here's a photo to get you going. It's against Barcelona from 2014 - we lost 4-1 after going 1-0 up! In case you are wondering why it is so empty, there was a torrential rainstorm that day (for most of the day) and the stadium doesn't have a roof - apart from a short section over the posh seats that you can see in the photo.
Shane Duffy is Blackburn's leading scorer with 3 goals. Unfortunately they're all own goals. Not a good week for the guy all told - Saturday: Own goal v Wigan Tuesday: Rejects new contract Wednesday: Two own goals and sent off v Cardiff His sending off was for two yellows so only a 1 game ban. Should make him okay for 27th August so that's okay then.
