The two films are nothing alike though, totally different genres. Good call on T2, but I think I'd still have to go with The Empire Strikes Back or Godfather II. T2 would definitely be up there though

Not sure I'd call ESB a proper sequel, it was part of one big narrative. And I'm the only person on Earth who hasn't seen The Godfather films... I know, I know...

I think to say they're all part of the same thing gives too much credit to George Lucas. He gave up the reigns for TESB and everyone realised just how good this could be. He got lucky with A New Hope, the prequels show just how incompetent he actually is and should be given no credit for TESB.

Seems a bit daft to credit him for the bad films and take it away for the good ones? Say what you will, but no Lucas, no Star Wars.

He was involved directly with four, three of which are awful, the other one being good. If someone has a 1 in 4 shot of making a good film, does that mean they're a good director? I will give him credit for inventing the saga but he has single handedly managed to ruin any credibility he used to have by constantly re-visiting the original trilogy and adding unnecessary scenes/dialogue.

Well now Phantom Menace was truly awful, Clones was ok and Sith was actually pretty good. If I had 4 shots at making a film I'd make 4 **** films, for what it's worth. I can't argue with all the silly changes though - the original remaster changes kind of made sense but the Blu-Ray ones are just stupid.

IMO Star Wars is vastly overrated anyway. Don't get me wrong, I could watch them back to back and love them as much as the next guy, and I do like the whole culture, but some people hold the films up far too high. I rate the better periods of Star Trek much higher, it's so much more cerebral and less like a 90 minute toy advert.

I'm honestly surprised that Kamelot got a mention. None of my friends has ever heard of them!

Super Bri, you have very good taste in metal.

My Favourite Highland Glory album is From the Cradle to the Grave.
The last Album Twist of Fate had a new Female singer and took some getting use to but I still like it.
Its a shame the band has now lost 3 of it's members including the Female vocalist from the last album line up, and are looking for recruits.

    Thanks

The Kamelot Tracks Forever and Center of the Universe probably get in my top 20 tracks

Well, I've seen Iron Maiden three times so they'd probably top my list. ;)

But Diamondhead, Scorpions, Queensryche, AC/DC and Blind Guardian would all be up there.

Haven't listened to a huge amount of power metal since I left uni (aside from Kamelot). I'll be checking out some of Super Bri's recommendations.

    Will do, Bidley. :)

I should also mention Rhapsody, not least because of their awesome track "The Magic of the Wizard's Dream" featuring the icon that is Christopher Lee.

My favourite Rhapsody tracks are Emerald Sword and Eternal Glory.

Yeah Lost Horizon's first album is great, my outstanding tracks are Heart of Storm and Pure.

    I'll check out Pharaoh.
