It's not just Yankey, they're forcing women's football in its entirety down our throats. They posted a highlights video the other week of a match that ended 3-2. The BBC claimed one of the goals was a 'world class' effort. It was a scuffed chip from about 25 yards and the keeper was miles off her line. The other four goals were down to defensive mistakes, embarrassing ones at that. I don't mind that it exists, just if we want to go and find it then we will look, it doesn't need to be on the main page.

Ah well, our turn to say, "What might have been?". Should make the third test quite some game though.

And while not as thrilling as his try in the first test, here is another bullish moment by George North worth watching -

Here here. I'm all for equality, but the fact of the matter is the quality of women's football just isn't very good. It literally is pub-team level.

Couldn't believe my eyes when this happened- Folau is a big fella.

North just seems to have ridiculous power behind him- always remember this move, the combination of sheer strength and then guile- he is one of the most complete players I've seen, attacking wise. I don't watch much club rugby though and generally tune in for the big international games so my opinion isnt the most informed.

Well, June turned out to be a much better month for me after something of a horrible 9 months. I was made redundant last year and subsequently lost my grandmother (I lived with my grandparents for two years a couple of years back). Last month I completed my professional qualification and this week I was offered a new job, which is much better than the one I previously had.

Here's hoping FFC can continue give me some good news over the next month or two!

Well done Surly and every good luck in the new job. I guess you'll have heard all the accountant jokes by now so I'll resist the temptation.

You do know that the only difference between an accountant and a vampire, is that a vampire only sucks blood at night!

Thanks for all the good wishes guys.

Going back to the previous posts - this is what the Lions is all about. Have to love an Australia loss, in any form!

Getting a bit sick reading about Gatland's vindication after dropping BOD. They would have won yesterday with or without him because they destroyed them in the scrum. Davies didn't do anything spectacular, although neither did he do anything poor. I still think it was a poor decision but the overall quality of the squad saw them through.

    This, this, 100 times this!

The Lions finally had a northern hemisphere referee and unsurprisingly they immediately dominated at the scrum. It's somewhat laughable that the IRB still lets there be such clearly different interpretations of the rules between the two hemispheres. Corbisiero and Sean O'Brien in particular were top class.

The Lions squad should always have a much better bench than their opponents and that showed in the last twenty minutes. After beating the Aussies up for the first hour, we ran over them with some top quality fresh legs at the end. There are still perfectly legitimate questions to be asked around selection (Faletau ahead of Morgan? Warburton ahead of O'Brien?), but Gatland got his tactics right for sure. The BOD issue is just a media side show which masks all the real issues/questions. Still we won the series, so I'm not going to moan too much!

Considering what Liverpool did last year with Dempsey, does anybody else enjoy the Suarez saga with Arsenal triggering the clause for £1?

This is really sad news about James Alexander Gordon having to retire.

“The broadcaster who has delivered British football results to global radio listeners for 40 years in a distinctive style has announced his final score.

James Alexander Gordon is retiring from the BBC because his voice is no longer strong enough following surgery to treat throat cancer, the broadcaster said Wednesday.

The Scotsman has been reading the football results just after 5 p.m. on Saturdays since 1973, with his clipped tones transmitted on the BBC's domestic radio stations and the World Service.”

Five o’clock on a Saturday will never be quite the same again.
