Money talks. There's no one out there for Mayweather to fight who could generate anywhere near the amount of money a rematch could, I expect the purse split to be vastly different though.

No doubt the rematch will be just as one sided. IMHO should there be a rematch probably not. Will there be a rematch probably yes. No reason for Mayweather to fight someone up and coming for half the purse for fighting someone who hardly made him break as sweat.

A boxing masterclass from Mayweather, let the opponent beat themselves and capitalise when they make a mistake.

However for the casual boxing fan (which would have been 99% of the viewing audience) it was a truly boring fight, although it was never going to live up to the years of hype.

Reminded me of a Chelsea away performance against one of the big teams, let the opponent do all the work, deal with it comfortably and then do the bare minimum to win the game.

I'm glad I just watched Bingham V Trump in that case, and then ****ed off to bed at a normal time.

The agreement was, that if Mayweather lost there had to be a rematch, if he won, there wouldn't be one. He walked it, it was disappointingly one-sided.

It's a shame Mayweather didn't have the confidence to go toe to toe with him, that would have made for a much better fight.

Had Manny employed his tactics they'd have just stood in opposite corners of the ring all fight, that's how much Mayweather was backing off.

Mayweather did what he always does, made it look simple, can't stand the guy but he's an exellent boxer, and as he says one the best ever, Manny did not turn up imo, there's talk of a shoulder injury I personally think he's past it, never recovered from marquez KO, shame as he's 1 of my all time favourites

I agree he 'out boxed' Manny, his tactics were spot on.

But he didn't take the fight to him, he backed off, defended and struck on the counter, he's a clever fighter, he knows his speed and big hits are well behind him but he can out think his opponent which is why he's so effective.

Manny is done at this level, his game was all about speed and power, last night he showed both are in decline. Any cynic would say that's why Mayweather delayed the fight until now.

He might be a cock but no one will twat him on the nose for being so. Does that count as a benefit?

Pac Man had a torn shoulder muscle. There no other reason for his low punch count. Disappointing.

There's talk of Golovkin dropping down to fight Mayweather but, and this is what I've read, Mayweather wouldn't consider getting in the ring with him.

    Wonder why?

Don't think he can be considered the greatest boxer. Not when your style is so one sided. Greatest "anythings" are usually well rounded athletes/teams.
You never call someone the greatest snooker player because of the quality of his safety shots.
The seahawks have been amazing recently because of their defensive style but they'll never be the greatest.
Defenders are never considered the greatest football players ever, they only feature within their one "defender" category.
Basketball MVPs are never based on how many blocks they make.

I know he won't give a **** but that's what he'll have to live with all his life.

That's where boxing falls down as a sport. Either that fight won't make Mayweather and his promoters enough money or Mayweather and his posse aren't confident of him winning.

Boxing's governing body are making a shed load out of the game, so that's never going to change.

I don't think it's the money mate, I'd pay to watch that but didn't bother with the fight last night. It was too predictable.

Mayweather knows GGG would pose too many problems, considered by many to be the best pound for pound fighter on the planet.

I honestly think he'd knock Mayweather clean out.

To be fair Mayweathers not a middleweight like golovkin. He's a welter who has fought at light middle.
