Seemingly for 100k - dollars not pounds - you just get to sit close to the action. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...p/news-story/eddcae3d043ed695398213273837709e
Id like to see Mayweather have the nads to face McGregor under the MMA rules after this, as all this will show is that Mayweather is the better boxer, and I would love to see him get the **** kicked out of him
It's got nothing to do with 'nads', it that would be pointless and every knows it would. Throwing punches with your fists is part of MMA, using choke holds and kicking is not part of boxing. It would take a boxer years to learn the MMA technical moves and wouldn't therefore happen. And as much as I've disliked Mayweather in the past, he is far less objectionable than McGregor. I hope he gets ****ing smashed.
Imagine having a boxing record of 0-0 and somehow managing to get yourself a fight like this On some level you have to respect McGregor for that , as a meaningful contest it's a joke though
McGregor has youth on his side + a 'punchers chance' of causing an upset - I can't see it myself but, there again, who foresaw Mike Tyson losing to Buster Douglas? Certainly not me.
I'd like to see Hawking have the nads to face Mcgregor under MMA rules. Then we'll see who's a clever ****
As someone else said, it'd **** me up for a week. I used to be up 'til all hours, nights out would regularly be several days-out etc. Now, I still try and some semblance of a late night but I'm asleep within minutes/seconds of trying. If somehow I am awake 'round that time, I'll watch.
Paul O'Farrell @paulofarrell Wonder if there is an equivalent to Mayweather/McGregor as alternative watch. Say, Arnold Palmer playing 18 holes against Desert Orchid
There were the Wigan v Bath Rugby League vs Union matches back in the day. Both teams won at their own code. McGregor has shown himself to be an exceptional athlete and he has picked up the boxing rules quickly according to Joe Cortez. Mayweather has come out of retirement, lost some ring intensity etc. When you factor in the ages, speed, punching power etc. it closes the gap on what would have been a routine win for Mayweather. Mayweather will still win, he's capable of winning every round and getting a 12-0 decision. He's the best defensive boxer of all time, romantics will have McGregor KO-ing him but it isn't going to happen. Some point to the sparring with Malingnaggi - he was duped into a brutal 12 rounds which show McGregor to be very useful, but Malingnaggi wasn't fully fit and some say he was set up to receive revenge over some comments/photos he'd put out, "I can beat Mcgregor with one hand tied behind my back" People say Mayweather is only in it for the money, theres no belt on the line etc... He wants to beat Rocky's 50-0 record Are you going to bet against that?
I just get the feeling McGregor will win. He's repeatedly demonstrated he's got a great punch. The punches thrown in a boxing ring will be nowhere near as damaging as elbows, knees and fists faced in an MMA fight. McGregor is also going to be throwing punches from unconventional angles.
