The Bristol accent is full of charm, and part of what makes Bristol unique and charismatic.
I never had a SW accent myself, even though I grew up in WSM and Bristol. Now I live away from the old town I can fully appreciate the qualities that make the city and its lingo so charismatic. The Bristol public should be as proud of their heritage as those from Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds and parts of London.
Only an arse like Maynard could use the accent as a blunt instrument to batter the hand that fed him for so long. Good riddance

A nice welcome awaits him,he certainly burnt his briches here in Bristol.

I'm from Dorset - I like the Bristol accent - I think those comments were tongue in cheek.

However, given some of the other (more misguided) comments could be taken completely out of context.

I'm disappointed in the lad - lets not forget his decision not to sign a new contract was taken BEFORE any abuse.

He would have been better off saying thank you to the club for furthering his career, standing by him during his long injury etc etc.

Shame that agents are only interested in getting their clients more cash, not advising them on the sensible way to act.

Anyway in that spirit - good luck Nicky - thank-you for your goals - now we move on!

JUST GOES TO PROOVE sometimes the training you get through life often pays off in other ways..body language and attitude..for a couple of months before Christmas I said he wasnt right and should not be playing. How many points did he cost us, he must have had a real vengeful nasty streak against the offenders/ BCFC fans that scorned him and insulted his family...if true..we know the Judas thing was right of course...
