Maynard has given no respect for BCFC and hasn't for some time. He has his reasons, but he is (in my view) orchestrating a situation where he will deliberately make himself a free agent at the end of the season. The reason for that is that any club he does sign for will have more in the pot for his wages as there would be no signing-on fee. He is taking a gamble - he may end up unemployed, but he is willing to take that chance - it is his choice. Now, BCFC must not waste playing-time on a lost cause. He has shown us his intentions and must play no part in our games from now on. No malice - just business. You people who harp on about 'you would do the same' are not quite right. If I refused to sign a contract I would probably be immediately given impossible tasks to do - effectively being constructively dismissed - or at the very least asked to give way and be replaced on important projects by someone with a future at the company. Football isn't like a 'normal' job. If I was cr@p I would be sacked. When a footballer is cr@p he is still paid until the end of his contract. Its a fantasy world. Now, I am not saying NM is cr@p - far from it - but he is NOT the future of this club - he hardly scores these days anyway, and his place should be given to Pitman or Stead who are. The team need to get used to NM not being around and that should have started immediately when he refused to sign. Its about time the players realised that the CLUB is in charge, not the players or their agents. Thanks for the goals Nicky - now GO and take your agent with you. Its time for the club to move on. Nicky who?????
