I know its a bit early in his managerial career, but if SAF thinks he could manage Utd in the future then why not?

It is one thing managing a club to the title in Norway and quite another to do it in the premiership or the other top leagues. The problems of high profile players with large egos rears its head. What SAF has managed to do is to get so many different players with high salaries wanting to play as a team and giving their all to win. This is beyond having a good techinical or tactical brain.

It's not beyond, you complete fool, it is another aspect that a good manager needs to be apt at.

Man management is no more important than technical and tactical, in fact theiy are more important. Beyond? wtf are you even talking about?

I have not read the link but assume it is about Ole, not a chance in hell of managing United for at least a decade imo

And, If Sir Alex thinks, then it must be true? Balls, he is a good manager and a good judge of players, he has no credibility when it comes to rating managers, opinionated as he is.

i don't want Solskjaer. what is his CV as a manager?
i never seen him as someone with personalty or charisma
we shouldn't be loyal to the players and give jobs for wrong people .. look to Liverpool
i prefer to see Jose

Big Ron had personalty and charisma as did Tommy Docherty and they never apart from winning a few trophies between them set the world on fire. Give him time.

Martin O'Neill is a great man manager and possibly not regarded as a great tactician, but he seems to do alright.

Even Jose had to start somewhere. He was a 'nobody' before Porto.

Jose is proven.
Solskjaer is not.
we are not labs RAT

if you take proven one, you know at least he is the one .. or at least there is little chance he will screw us, the odds he will fail is not that big at least far far better odd than someone unproven .. may be like 1:1000 difference in odds .. is too hard to find a successful manager .. from hundreds of thousands of players who retires every year, how many of them turn out to be great managers? almost zero.. actually most of great managers were really bad/average players

His point was when Jose took over for Porto, he didn't have a CV, he then won the league and the champions league, possibly the treble. Point is OGS doesn't have much of a pedigree yet, but it's clear SAF thinks highly of him, and I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back as an assistant manager before Fergie retires.

If I'm not mistaken, no one predicted Molde would be anywhere close to winning the league when OGS took over. It would be similar to Liverpool or another mid table club winning the EPL.

Anyone know if Molde qualifies for the Champions League, or do they have to play in qualifiers?

i understand what he said, but that is not a reason .. otherwise we should bring in any kid at 14 years old under the same argument that every big player started as unknown at this age.
Molde was 2nd 2 years ago with Diouf , am not taking anything from OGS, he must be really but manager their and sure he learned from the best, not sure that make him fit to manage a club at UTD level. beside Roy keane did a great job too at his first year as a manager, too soon to judge imo

regarding Molde, they will play i guess at second qualifying round

In the article Fergie talks about how OGS has always wanted to be a manger, and always took notes in training ect. Where as people like Keane ect. Decided that they wanted to coach after they finished playing. To me that says Ole has the drive and the passion, that IMO is a requirement to manage at a big club, especially United. He still has a few years to add to his pedigree, before SAF steps down.

Here's another thought if he were to become manager and have a poor stint in charge, would that tarnish his reputation of being a club legend?
