Agree, although I might be inclined to bring on Mbappe instead, to help create space for Haaland. :bandit:

He was too injury prone as people say. Wish him well.

Even so, he may only play 25-30 games but he makes enough impact to be worth it.

11/12 goals a season last two season for leicester and around 10 assists.

20-25 G/A's a season, for 40-45m could be worth it.

If we sell ASM, let’s say for £30m, that doesn’t necessarily mean it increases our budget by £30m due to amortisation. That potentially could mean we have £80m+

I think he'll stay this season and go next season.

I have a feeling he might be better in the champs league than the prem like.

Saw someone compare our current situation to Man City's at the beginning of their cash-centric rise to the top. We are currently at the Bellamy and Wayne Bridge stage of our development, Mbappe (the Haaland/De Bruyne stage) will be years away yet...

Better to clear the decks below, hold on to the few players we have that can contribute at this level (ASM) and build from them.

I'd rather sell Miggy for £25m-30m than ASM for £30-40m.

We are ahead of Man City at the same stage of their takeover, they finished 10th in their first full season.

We haven't really made any bad signings apart from Wood which was literally just a case of getting any striker in, even then he did a job at times.

Our owners and Howe have hardly put a foot wrong apart from not peddling Bruce straight away.

Really? Almiron has a better g/a than ASM and works for the team both attacking wise and defensively. ASM would also, oddly, obtain us the most money. Plus we get rid of him. Win, win, win situation

Love Miggy to bits but I can see past his once in a lifetime run of games scoring goals and undoubted stamina - much like Willock when he scored 7 on the bounce when he arrived - there was and is no way Willock or Miggy could have or will keep that up. Miggy had a great season and is probably the most highly valued of his career - past, present or future as of right now.

But looking at it objectively - take away his 8 goal run in 9 games and he was his usual self this season (vs Maxi) -

    22/23 - 3 goals, 1 assist. (vs 1G/5A)
    21/22 - 1 goal, 0 assist. (vs 5G/5A)
    20/21 - 4 goals, 1 assist. (vs 3G/4A)
    19/20 - 4 goals 2 assist. (vs 3G/5A)

The kid had a great season - no doubt! Works his balls off for the team - check. Lovely smile that spreads joy - 100% but he's not a world class player and at 29 is at the peak of his powers and will never be as valuable as he is currently.

TM has them both worth £35m so I'd dispute you'd get more for Maxi than Almiron especially with the seasons they've had respectively but with Maxi being 3 years younger and generally a better player than Miggy, yeah, really, I'd sell Miggy ahead of ASM.

I'll ask it again though as I'm genuinely interested in your (and everyones) thoughts - last 20 mins of a game, 2-1 down against a decent defensive team needing a goal to go through, which 4 of our current wingers do you want for that situation?
In order for me I'd go:
    ASM
    Miggy
    Gordon
    Murphy

Then sell Murphy for the same price instead

Rather we went for Haaland’s son. I understand he’s going to be one heck of a striker.
