Mawson Undergoes Surgery

Sounds exploratory at the moment, from the comment 'we will know more once the surgeon opens his knee up'.
 
It was unfortunate, he’s had injury issues, but to be fair he was unlucky, it could have happened to anyone.
 
i've looked at his record and can only find 2 significant injuries, one at Swansea and one at Fulham.
 
I can't work out whether we're unlucky, whether we buy more injury prone players than other clubs, or whether the players training routines at City are perhaps too demanding on the players bodies.
But this has been an ongoing issue at the club for quite a few years and isn't anything new.

As Angelic said, there has got to be a reason, it has been ongoing for ages, bad luck can't be the only reason, I can sense a few defeats coming our way and we won't have the resources to respond.

Yes but seasons previous, it was all LJ's fault!! <laugh>

Are we ‘unlucky’ only because we have detailed knowledge of injuries at our own club but only superficial knowledge of what is happening at other clubs, particularly our immediate competitors.
Unless someone is prepared to analyse injuries at other Championship clubs we can’t claim to be unlucky, that it’s down to bad luck or look for reasons for our supposed disadvantage.
Football is an athletic contact sport so injuries are always going to be an issue.
I don’t know the answer, just asking the question but we probably shouldn’t be feeling sorry for our plight. More or less injured players are what helps decide championships, just like referees decisions and we have suffered and benefitted from those recently.
We should just get on with it.

For me it's the multi coloured ballet shoes that masquerade as football boots that is maybe too blame, no proper support and players slip and slide all over the place.

Well at least the players are afforded time to fully recover, I seem to recall players like Baker and Smith being brought back far too early and breaking down again in their first game back.

The mistake this time around is the timing of the sale of Morrell.

Or back in the 60's and 70's when players were regularly given repeated injections of Cortizones and such like by club medics just so they could play every week. Resulting in many players suffering serious standing and walking disabilities later in life following retirement. Tommy Smith of Liverpool springs to mind.

Are you sure that was down to LJ....I'm sure he's was not alone on those decisions..

he was the roman keystone … now lost Palmer and Morrel [ is that worth £1.7m now?] so down now to Bakinson and COD Nagy Rowe Brunt[ should the rest still be recovering] maybe da silva as stop gap?
