Not signed yet.....is this because he can't till Thursday...or is there a problem....seems to good to be true at the moment
There's some great comments from West Ham fans below the blurb on this article............ http://westhamworld.co.uk/outrage-as-promising-star-leaves-west-ham/?
Sounds like a good acquisition if confirmed. A little concerned with the comment in the West Ham article: "Some fans took a different stance, claiming Zarate thinks he can win games on his own and is upsetting the squad (all of which are unproven compared to Zarate’s claims), but the general feeling amongst fans is that it’s an outrageous decision…
Don't mean to be especially negative, and I do agree he looks great, but the Spurs' fans said all that about 'The Beast' who should probably be called 'The Bench' instead!
Seems like a great signing although i think he's a bit thick to slate his manager. Its a loan FFS. What does he think he going to be doing at the end of the season if we get relegated.
Sam Allardyce: Mauro Zarate not good enough for West Ham please log in to view this image West Ham boss Sam Allardyce will let Argentina striker Mauro Zarate join QPR on loan because he "wasn't good enough" to play regularly at Upton Park. Zarate, 27, was quoted in the national press as saying that Allardyce refused to play him because he was signed by Hammers co-chairman David Sullivan. Allardyce claimed that was "not true" and offered an alternative reason. "He wasn't good enough," Allardyce, 60, replied when asked why Zarate had not featured more for the Hammers. Zarate has scored twice in eight appearances for the Hammers since hejoined from Velez Sarsfield last summer. He has fallen behind fellow summer signings Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho in the pecking order, while Allardyce also has Carlton Cole and Andy Carroll at his disposal. "I base my feelings on what I consider to be the best team. It's a professional, clinical decision, not an emotional one," added Allardyce. "Mauro is not good enough to play as regularly as he wants compared to the others. It's as simple as that." http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30639367
If my arithmetic is right, Wikipedia shows him to have scored 86 goals in 286 appearances so he is hardly prolific. I like to see a goal every other game from a striker, especially from the "lower" leagues, but I guess if he had scored at that rate, he wouldn't be coming to us as a January loan signing! Nevertheless, the quality of some of the goals in the clip and the reaction of the WHU fans to his move may be more indicative of his quality. Definitely worth a punt.
Appears to vastly higher quality than any of last years Jan recruits. 86 goals in 286 appearances, is significantly better than most of our current striking options (none)
Good player. But drifts in and out of games. Only really played well in one game for us this season against Palace. I don't really know why he thinks he should be starting. He is competing with Sakho, Valencia and Carroll up front and with Downing and Amalfitano in midfield who have both been outstanding. I think he would be useful to keep around but no point in keeping him if he is sulking and moping about and bringing down the good team spirit we have. Probably not the type you need for a relegation fight.
Fortunately we don't have others in the squad who are sulking and moping about and bringing down the good team spirit we have. Oh, wait a minute ...
Apparently Sam has said he wasn't good enough for West Ham. Two things can now happen. Either Big Sam is correct or it will motivate Zarate to ram those words down his throat and bag us lots of goals.
