If ALL you offer on a football pitch for your club is gouging, stamping, punching and general thuggery, and little if nothing else, then dont be surprised to be called a thug. Simples.

Keane Hughes and cantons would all have been far better shouts that Scholes.

Keane was horrid. I'm glad he played for us. Cantons was so arrogant you wish he played for you, thankfully like Keane, he played for us.
Sparky again, nasty piece of work, bit of a thug.

However, what you've forgotten with all three... Incredible footballers, three of the leagues greatest ever players, of which Costa is nowhere near.

Plus they were doing this 10/20 years ago. The games changed massively.

Think you are missing the point here. You are basically saying if someone is dirty and **** you can do what you want to them.

If they are dirty and skillful (or coincidently a united player) its fine and they can play as dirty as they want with no repercussions hmmmm.....

Yeh but scholes mistimed a tackle or two Treble so he's no different. I mean, what else did scholes offer, or Keane, or Cantons or Hughes.... Well........

I'm not excusing then. I've already saidnthey were bad for it. I did point out they actually had ability but my biggest argument is the time period. Were talking decades ago now in some cases.

The game has changed now. Keane wouldn't survive in today's game because he would be suspended for the whole season. During the 90s though it was more acceptable. Just look back.

Its not like you guys were angels. You had a few right little bastards, one literally fits that description (wise). They wouldn't be accepted now.

Are they any less great? Nope. Legends in their own right.

Costa is none if those things. He's not even dirty, he's just a cheating petulant gimp. Another drogba, without the ability.

No mate, what we're saying is if you go on to a football pitch and demonstrate some degree of footballing ability at the highest level but are prone to letting your anger or indiscipline get the better of you on occasion, it's understandable. Not a club in the land that hasnt had a player like that.

But if you go onto the pitch with the aim of causing trouble, hurting people, getting them sent off, and just being a thug with no intention of actually relying on your ability as a footballer in the first instance, then you're a kunt and a thug. It's pretty straightforward to be honest. And much as I dislike him, I'd include Suarez in the former rather than the latter.

Nail on the head Treble.

I'm not denying hes not a thug. What UIR is saying is that because hes a thug then someone is allowed to go on the football field and assault/kill/maim or in uirs words suplex him and face no consequences. The fact that costa is a thug shouldnt mean that physical violence to costa should be condoned. Refs should clamp down on costa and just send him off if he does this which will just be a detriment to chelsea fc.

Saying violence is fine to someone just because they are ****s doesnt make it right

I wasn't being literal when I said suplex him. I was making a point . I would see it as his deserving it and take no action against the opponent. I certainly didn't say it would be OK to kill or seriously injure him.

If he's going to be a tit, it's likely he's going to get a retaliation at some point. Tough. He knows what hes doing. A few unpunished tackles layer and he will start to see it's not working and perhaps he might plays a bit of footy.

Call it tough love. The refs missing it and then causing messes like this are idiots and not helping by ignoring it then getting fired up when someone gets fed up. It's human nature.

Costa's a windup merchant and he's pretty snide and nasty, but I've yet to see him try to intentionally injure somebody, IIRC.
The same isn't true of the likes of Keane or Scholes. I'm sure we're all familiar with the former's behaviour. How about this for the latter?

That first foul is just unbelievable.

They were all poor tackles but there was no malice in them. Just genuinely poor tackles. The first was horrific.

You could tell by the reaction it wasn't something he planned. He was devastated. Costa would have been smirking.

The first one isn't a tackle, it's a physical assault! - no attempt to play the ball whatsoever.

If you did that anywhere else you'd probably be charged with assault too.

Reports coming out that Jose is prepared to walk. He's trying to show Roman he needs more dolla bit Roman wants a new Yacht so is being a tight arse.

"The ref speaks too much, too busy holding up play!" <laugh> Apparently like Eva, this time it's the ref. Sack him!!

Jose is doing a passable impression of Moyes this season. It's all down to bad luck and his **** squad, the difference is he built his squad at HUGE expense!

"Everything goes against us and we have to cope with it"

"Ramires is one of the few players we have who can shoot from outside the box"

Their defense is crap, and past its sell by date. The rest are suffering from loss of confidence.
