  8. It's fantastic to see Wenger in that list!

PIX, you know how you go on about Spurs spending £ billions? Well, tell us, what Spurs manager is on that list?

    Don't shirk this question, please.

    I haven't ever said you've spent billions.

And it's no surprise that there's no Spurs manager on that list as you haven't had one long enough at the club to spend that much <laugh> Collectively though, they have spent a **** load to achieve basically **** all.

  10. Woah! That's a crap argument!

Pick a period of time, and do the stats. Wenger has spent far more than we have.

This idea that Wenger spent frugally but spent well, is utter bollocks!

Since he became chairman in February 2001, Levy's managers have spent a net £220m (£190m more than Wenger)

    * Net spending since Daniel Levy became chairman of Tottenham:

    Arsenal season Tottenham

    £21.5m 2001-02 £16.1m

    -£0.1m 2002-03 £8.1m

    £37.3m 2003-04 £24.6m

    £7.1m 2004-05 £32.2m

    £18.5m 2005-06 £12.2m

    -£0.8m 2006-07 £19.7m

    -£22.7m 2007-08 £62.7m

    £12.6m 2008-09 £46.2m

    -£31.5m 2009-10 £7.5m

    £12.1m 2010-11 £20.4m

    -£11.9m 2011-12 -£30.6m

    -£11.9m 2012-13 £0.5m

    £30.2m TOTAL £219.6m

    Source: transfermarkt.co.uk

Bringing it up to date to this season's overall spend since the premier league began:

    Spurs spend £582m
    Arsenal spend £510m

You're not very good at this are you ? <laugh>

What year is it, Piskie? You did this the last time that this sort of figure came up.
Even you use a source that you've inadequately linked to, you could at least go up to the current season.

As usual, these stats ignore the important figure, which is wages.
It's a ludicrous and pointless discussion without them and the table is far closer to wages spent than to transfer fees.

So having proved you wrong about Wenger spending more on transfers than Spurs. Can you tell me what Spurs have achieved by spending more than Wenger in that time.

    I'll help get you started.

    Wenger:

    Titles: 3. FA cups: 6. Doubles 2

    Spurs :

    Titles: ? FA cups ? Doubles ?

Don't shirk the question now HIAG ? <ok>

You used half of the years and net spend for one group of figures, then switched to gross spend and left out a bunch of seasons.
You also failed to link to your figures and ignored most of the spending.
    Very accurate. <ok>

If you're disputing the figures, you'll have to take it up with the website I have quoted.
I've given the figures for net spend up until 12/13, you can work out the rest if you want. I've also given the overall spend since the PL began (same website) both show that Spurs have outspent Arsenal.

The original wum **** up claim from HIAG was talking about the transfer spending, not wages.

Why should anyone accept transfermarkt as a source? You haven't linked to any of the pages involved, either.
You left out various years, apparently on a whim, then switched up the way that you were calculating things at the end.
An awful way to attempt to prove a point.

Arsenal's net spending on transfers may well be lower than Spurs. I'm not sure how close those figures are.
We do know, from the clubs themselves, that your wage bill is over £60m pa higher than ours, though.
It's been a lot higher for a lot longer. That's the spending that actually matters.

  19. PIXIE, you are soooo "owned."

    #879
  20. PIXIE, can you please define "cost" in terms of a player?

Are you taking merely the price that one club pays another? Or are you also taking into account agent's fees, signing on fees, and annual salary (plus bonuses) over the entire period of the contract?

Please post or link to conclusive evidence of your allegations.
