Exactly, its one thing pointing out what others should have done, but people forget, the manager may train the players, and put forth the tactics, but once the players take to the field, it's on them. There is **** all the manager can do. A lot of the time it is easy to see whether the failing is down to the manager or the players.
If the players tactics are wrong, or they are playing in the wrong positions, then it is the manager.
If it is down to a lack of concentration and individual mistakes, then its the players.

With Chelsea last season, you could see the fault lay with the players, and not with Jose.
They had stopped playing for him, and in a just world, Roman would have sacked the squad and let Jose buy a new one.
But if the players and the manager are not getting on, it's easier and cheaper to ditch and replace the one manager, rather than half a dozen players. So I did sympathise with Roman this time around.

Partly true bod. But i think part of that is to blame on the manager. They are the ones that shift lift the players or change the system if thinks are not working.

As much as we love mourinho, his lack of dropping of players was criminal. Ivan and Fab were abysmal last season and he carried on playing them even though they offered nothing

Why? You hated Jose at Chelsea and mocked on the Jose Sack Watch thread when he managed Chelsea. Now you won't here a word against him now he plays expansive football the United way

That's a strange post for so many reasons. Firstly, I've already posted a reason why (see my second post on this thread). Secondly, I was posting on your board before and after the Sack Jose thread. Thirdly, iirc I was actually criticising ppl on there for calling for his head considering what he had achieved for your club. I don't get what you're on about??

Convenient memory. You spent two and a half years criticising Mou and his bus-parking football.

Only at Chavbus <ok> As you have admitted yourself, I've always said Mourinho adapts to suit the teams he manages. Granted you didn't watch him manage Real Madrid but it was a completely different club, different dynamics, different stadium, different expectations, different style. He ALWAYS focused first on the defensive side of his team, but going forward, his style at RM was very different to CFC. At Manchester United I expect him to lean towards his approach at RM because the style/approach/tradition/expectations are much closer.

Going forward he'd inherited Ronaldo in his prime. Utd have.....Zlatan. [HASHTAG]#adapting[/HASHTAG]

Mourinho is not a good manager anymore. He is literally running on fumes. United fans literally couldn't stand this man at Chelsea and now he is thier messiah. I think it's embarrassing he has ended up at United after he literally destroyed Chelsea due to his inability to manage his staff correctly. Coupled with his 3 season loyalty it smells of desperation from United. I think Jose will go before the end of the season as United struggle to grasp his style of negative football. If he stays then it's a win win for the rest of the league.

37 attempts on goal = negative football?

Ok then <laugh>

I would say comparing United's history of attacking football with Real's is a little deluded.

Real would never put up with three seasons of Moyes LVG, Europa League and no CL, and sideways ball.

And historically a manager as negative as Sexton would never have lasted that long at Real.

Before the Sky era, so don't expect you to know this, but you have more in common with Chelsea's history than Real's.

In the 70s, you ended up with our manager twice: Docherty then boring Sexton.

You took an exciting attacking midfielder called Ray Wilkins and made him the most boring sideways passer in the history of sport too!

Jose's newest admirer and now his staunchest defender.

Like it!

The likes of Treb aren't happy with the movement of the players despite 37 shots on goal.

Although a month ago he was delighted with Jose honouring United's attacking traditions (at home ) which proved he would adapt!

Negative not just in style but in management... A black cloud literally follows this guy from club to club. If you can't see that then you are also a victim of the Jose effect. Ain't it funny how United fans have turned their opinion...bizarre!

Can you elaborate on the bit in bold. Thanks.

You can help London's Angriest Fan elaborate. I think you may struggle to build a case though <laugh>

By the way, I took the piss out of your claim that the style of football was negative as we had 37 shots on goal yesterday. Now you've switched to "negative management". You either lack consistency or conviction.

To be fair though, I have no idea who you are as I rarely post on the Gooner board (too depressing as you lot are always at each other's throats) and you only seem to have appeared on here in the past few days.

Negative football management leads to negative football. Hence why in 37 attempts you scored 0. I'm really happy with this appointment as it will produce 0 trophies. But live on United fans.... live on....

Surely 0 goals in 37 attempts is the result of poor finishing not negative football. As an Arsenal fan you should be at PhD level on the subject <laugh>

It's a lack of belief bud... sorry

Laughing after every paragraph won't make the problems go away but I hope it helps to ease your pain a little.

Let's do a deal. We can reconvene in about ten years and if we still haven't won another league title we can compare notes on the pain I'm feeling then compared to the pain you're feeling now <cheers>

Ha ha. Banter!!

Like the new Jose-loving Chelsea-baiting Stan.

Jose has converted Treb and is slowly brainwashing you too :)
I didn't think you'd be able to elaborate.

Not all football fans are as fickle or fairweather as you Deidre.

The PL board has thrived since you went into hiding/became a City fan <laugh>
