Did you see the match? Barnetta looked all right, but no more. He was only competing with the England midfield, after all.

As for his two goals, they were hardly Beckhamesque free kicks, were they? Crap defending by England, rather than being any great shakes.

I see all these foreing players being linked to NUFC. But tbh I'm not spotting a leader amongst them. West Ham, with all their international stars, went down because they had no leadership and heart. Well they have now...OURS!

Mr Cwarr reckons after we seal Ba and Barnetta we will move for Zog and it's more or less been agreed in principle that he'll come here.

I watched the game and jokingly said to a mate that we'd end up putting a bid in for him. I don't know an awful lot about him but he is highly rated as i understand.

No chance will we get Barnetta, bigger clubs will want him, as for the other lad don't know a lot about him.

Cabaye captained French U21 side a couple of years ago and Lille to the French title last year.

Was Lille's vice captain according to a quick google, but he can lead our French speaking contingent, apart from Tioté of course.

matuidi is in my opinion brilliant, hes a holding midfielder like cabaye or tiote so not sure why we are after him but hes good on the ball and fairly young in his early twentys i think. as for barnetta i like him but ill be honest he is frustrating he often dribbles into nowhere and shoots from stupid place although he does have good ball control and a decent shot. he is not as good as nzogbia but will probably be half the price, his wages would be clos to nzogbias perhaps even more i think hes on a good deal at the moment. i dont think he will fit into our team though we play very possesion base football in midfield and he is similar to wayne routledge in the way he never thinks about playing the ball back, only forward and this leads him to creat good chances and cause problems but also causes him to run into nowhere or lose possesion. i dont think hes right for the PL thats just my honest opinion sorry to slow down the bandwagon lol

    This. <ok>

I like Barnetta, but IMO N'Zog would be the better buy.

Whoever we sing we need quality players coming in. As it stands (with the almost inevitable departure of Barton and Enrique) we'll have the following squad next season.

    GK:

Krul / Forster (one out on loan)
    Harper

    RB:

    Simpson
    R. Taylor

    CB:

    S Taylor
    Colocinni
    Williamson

    LB:

    Kadar

    RM:

    None

    CM:

    Tiote
    Cabaye
    Gosling
    Guthrie

    LM:

    Jonas
    Ferguson

    Att. Mid:

    Ben Arfa
    Vukic (not ready yet)

    Striker:

    Ba (probably)
    Best
    Ameobi
    Lovenkrands

Looking at that we desperately need a right winger and cover for the wing as Lua Lua will probably go. We will also be in desperate need of a LB. We also need cover for Ben Arfa who won't be fully fit until well into next season. Plus a utility man and A MINIMUM of 5 more signing are essential. If not then we're far too low on quality and numbers.
