I'm afraid I just can't agree with you. Le Tiss is a true legend, who became a hero out of loyalty and class, over a number of years endearing himself to saints fans. I don't think cortese is as close to the fans hearts as Le Tiss was/is.

This point can only be confirmed in 5, 10 and 15 years time. then we'll see how many Saints fans are in love with NC. For now, he is doing a really impressive and professional job at returning our great club to where we want it to be and where we all believe it should be. Of course Matt is rightful a legend of our club.

Hail Nicola!

Hail Matt!

Le Tissier is permanently in the hearts of Saints fans for his loyalty and heroics. Who knows what the future holds for NC, but at the moment most fans would be afraid to lose him. It isn't an either/or situation. As fatletiss says, NC's position in Saints folklore will be better judged at a future date. If he does what he says and we are not sold down the river at some stage, he is de man.

No chairman will ever displace an iconic player in the affections of the fans. But Cortese will come close if he continues to run the club in the way he does. Let us not forget that we had become a joke, and that Cortese, with Liebherr's financial backing, has restored our dignity. I love the fact that we don't get into the gutter and indulge in speculation and rumour. Of course it less sexy than scoring great goals but it matters. As for Cortese taking a penalty, he'd surely make the keeper an offer he canna refuse!
