He was Exeter's best player by far when they lost to Warrington in the FA Cup the other week. Good player.

The thing is, if I was an Exeter city fan, I'd want the player to stay for a little while longer. They need good players and a good manager, because if you do well you get AFC Bournemouth.

Saints may well be a great club for middle sized clubs in the PL, but the Cherries are the same for the little ones. Surely every South Coast club, [apart from Saints] must be looking at Bournemouth and asking... why not us..?

And why not indeed..? I hope the lad stays there and makes a lasting contribution before making the step.

That's a very thoughtful view TSS and would be good if true. Exeter however are in dire financial problems and maybe £1m or so would save that club. It would be good if we took a 'gamble' and signed him, leaving him there for another season to see how he progresses.

He scored a great free kick yesterday, just watched the FL Show. He does look a good player but League 2 to Champions League would be one hell of a step. <whistle>
