The 5 plus 10 plus 4 is 19 and is separate to the first 5 plus so you get 5 plus 19 multiplied by 2 Order of operations means you do multiplication first So 5 plus 38 Which is 43
Anyone in schools before 1988 unlikely to have been taught it unless picky enough to have been at a school where it was introduced
You’re one of the few people that would get a number above 1 (assuming weight measured in kg and height in cm)
Errmmm The BMI calculation divides an adult's weight in kilograms (kg) by their height in metres (m) squared. For example, if you weigh 70kg (around 11 stone) and are 1.73m (around 5 feet 8 inches) tall, you work out your BMI by: squaring your height: 1.73x1.73 = 2.99. dividing 70 by 2.99 = 23.41. Under 18.5 – This is described as underweight. between 18.5 and 24.9 – This is described as the 'healthy range'. between 25 and 29.9 – This is described as overweight. And you think most people would be less than 1? And you are a maths teacher?
5 + 5 +10 + 4 x 2 =48 Don't care what your fancy acronym says as I was at school before 1988. I was taught you do it in the order it is presented.
