Hes abit on the small side though and right now i wouldnt drop either Neil or Ekwah for him. Hed be no better than Corry Evans imo.

Aye it’s a bit of straw clutching. More for the experience. Actually if you think won a title and might be a wise head about the pitfalls given his choices after Leicester.

    He was very very good.

He was mate and like many other players like him moving to Chelsea ruined his career.
Last i heard he was trying to persuade the Saudi club that signed Kante to give him a chance to form a Premiership winning midfield partnership again

Fair play to him if he bags a Saudi contract Mind.

I know mate. Its strange how hes not played for so long, surely a Championship club or League 1 even would have taken him on by now if his heart was still in it

Not for me, hasnt played in over a yr so id be staying well clear

Not fussed about a big CM but they need to be able to get about the pitch and be able to read play intelligently

I think Neil n Ekwah have the potential to be 1 of the best pairings this season in the league but theres a big drop off if one misses games - especially if neil is to miss games

We have Bellingham, Matete and Rigg to step in mate. I think our midfield is a force this season.

I haven't seen loads of Matete but I've liked the look of him when I have. I think he's got his own niche as the tough tackling CM which is often just what you need.

He can play a bit too, looking forward to seeing how he does after benefitting from Uncle Tony's magic.

None of them are holding midfielders though

The potential of our CM is enormous as Rigg and bellingham have huge upside but they are still really young so need another good addition in CM to help for when neil n ekwah need taking out the team

Just dont think matete is ready for the top end of the championship, hope im wrong tho as i like the lad

We are definitely better stacked going forward though.

Having that deep lying cover is what’s gonna allow Jacky & Roberts to do their thing.

I think we see Bellingham more advanced than an 8, we definitely need one more who can sit.

We also have Onien that can play midfield remember and also Huggins, who my Leeds supporting mate thinks is his best position.
I really dont see any point in spending whatever money we have in that department

I actually think we will switch formation and play 433 as think it suits most of our players better. Occasionally switching to 4231 depending on the team - this formation is also better for pritchard

A 433 with neil ekwah n bellingham could be unreal

My biggest concern is if neil misses a lot of games as he is the only one who can really play that CDM role until evans is back. O9 cant really play it as he struggles playing on the half turn, be ok for a game or 2 but not through a long stretch

Tough decisions to be made and some great points by all on here - love discussions like this - i just feel CM is huge and we dont have that natural CDM cover currently

I'm happy with the midfield options as it stands, they all offer something although there is only Evans that naturally wants to sit in front and he's out till Christmas.

I think we will see a more fluid midfield and forward 3 behind a lone striker this year and not play a 10 / free role like we had with Amad last season

Edit what @Scout73 said is spot on imo

Ekwah may well be the key to it all, cos he can sit deep and also step forward.

Jobe like an advanced 8/deep 10

What kind of impact do you all think Embleton will make next season?
