I'm going off topic slightly, but there's an important point here. Religion aside, Christmas is primarily for the kids to enjoy. But as long as they are happy, the rest of us also should have the right to enjoy the kind of Christmas we want. If mother doesn't want to have to cook and slave for a dozen in-laws on Christmas Day, she shouldn't have to. Anyone coming round for the day should pitch in and help out, not sit around being waited on. And folks shouldn't be made to feel guilty if they aren't living up to some other snob's version of what the day should be. So go to it merry gentlemen and ladies, and do your own thing this Christmas. Take some time for yourself everyone.
No chance of that happening. This Christmas Day we are cooking Christmas dinner for eleven people. We do this every year as we have the space in our house. The best Christmas I have had is when I went to Florida and hired a house with a Swimming pool. Spent most of Christmas Day in the pool and hot tub.
i concur. we go to naples florida every few years. we went at xmas once, did the same - house and pool. was brilliant not to have xmas pushed in your face (their big one is thanksgiving). on new years eve at midnight, we were in shorts and t shirts on the beach watching fireworks.... and not being herded like cattle like you would in central london at the same time.
I was in Melbourne Xmas day 2002 for the Ashes series. A record/CD fair in 25 degs was very enjoyable, and different.
Sky are happy, and Roland is happy - another £100K in his back pocket. Neither of them give a sh*t about fans, or whether we win or lose.
@DickPlumb it's ****ing bollocks like this that would make me laugh my tits off if we went bust. The geezer is a **** and WILL **** us over in the sale. 7 countries with Charlton, 140 different grounds has seen the Elf visit with the best team in the world. I ****ing love Charlton and NOTHING will change my mind about this **** and NOTHING will see my arse on a seat at The Valley until this **** has sold lock stock and barrel.
Roland won't sit up and notice when fans don't go. But he won't notice when they do go either. Do you think having 20,000 in the Valley makes any difference to him whatsoever? After 6 years as Charlton owner, the ONLY thing he has ever responded to, are reports of him being a bad employer. Not paying bonuses, no bottled water for the kids, treating staff like sh*t etc. He couldn't give a toss about the relegation, and he doesn't give a toss about Lee Bowyer. If he did, he would have backed LB properly. Duchatelet is continuing to take the p*ss out of every loyal CAFC fan. I'm 100% with Elfs on this one. RD's ownership of CAFC is offensive. It stinks, and it'll carry on stinking until he has gone.
