Not terribly convincing, but considering all the injuries a decent performance. At least we're not going to be stranded at the bottom by the turn of the year.

We're now 4pts clear of the bottom 3, so a bit of a gap. Although I don't really expect anything from Liverpool on Wednesday.

Yeah not really tested the keeper in the second half which is disappointing, but going to enjoy this win while I can lol.

I don't imagine many thought Hull were going to concede last weekend either against Palace, but they did! If there's just one goal in it, there's always that risk.

Redmond's brain obviously tired in the second half. He had two good opportunities to play someone in but didn't. But he put in an excellent shift overall. <ok>

With Michu and Bony out of the Swansea side for some time, I would like to think we can nick a win, Fulham at home, as of today perhaps ought to be a home win, and Sunderland could be a point (maybe 3 if something strange happens). So, yes, quite doable imo <ok>

That's a fairly modest target isn't it CT? I think we can better that. For one thing we are due some one-way luck (it was pretty much shared this afternoon)! Let's aim for 21 pts and be on track for minimum 42 come May. <ok>

I guess that we are going to see a change of management at Fulham.Whether that gives them a bounce or not is another matter.I'm not convinced it does as Sunderland and Palace are still well adrift. We are starting to see a fairly healthy gap develop below us now.

Good team choice and a hard fought vital win. Even GD is better than all of the bottom 3. Considering the injuries they did well. Also vital that Hooper got the goal! OTBC!

I think it was the right decision to bring Wes back in and he had a great game first half. Clearly tired and took a knock second half but he covered pretty much every blade of grass in his attempts to get the ball. Bassong managed to look solid and shaky at the same time. He makes great blocks and some brilliant tackles but his decision making can be appalling!

Overall the first half was a big improvement on recent performances, we just need to figure out how to manage that level of performance for 90 minutes. It's just that lack of speed, getting up the pitch, that frustrates constantly.

Well done Budgies!<ok> You gave the Prem's whipping boys one hell of a beating!

The "Hughton-Outers" seem to be quiet this evening, they'd have probably preferred it if you'd have lost!

Yeah, I thought that we scored way too early, but hey, we held on...long way for us to go yet, but at least we seem to be heading in the right direction.<ok>

    Well a wins a win.
But that wasn't the performance I had hoped for at home to the whipping boys of the PL.
With the injury crisis we are currently going through the team was pretty much as all had predicted all week, no shocks or surprises.
First half we didn't press Palace anywhere near enough and other than an improvised effort from JA which was very unfortunate to not find it's way in there weren't many clear opportunitys until the goal came.
But why then after going a goal up did we not turn the screw and go for beating a poor Palace side intent on hoofing clear when ever they could?
We instead sat back and invited pressure again !! And but for a two super blocks from Ollsen, one full in the chops and a brilliant flick onto the bar Palace could well have been level at the break.
Second half and I'd hoped for a repeat of the second half v west ham but instead it more resembled the away performance's we've seen this season with lots of body's behind the ball and an unwillingness to commit men forward in search of the killer second goal.
This enabled a Pullis side to start playing footy in midfield and for large periods we were pegged back in our own half only getting out with long out balls to the flanks.?!!
How many times did either Hooper or Almander collect a ball on the flank only to look across and see no yellow shirts up with them?!
The subs also were about ten mins late in coming as Wes & Almander were clearly flagging and I do wonder if changes were made earlier maybe the fresh legs could have gained us some impedes for the last 25 mins.
But I'm not going to beat him with the preverbial stick tonight as this was three points we had to get.
I do however think that by this time next sat we could very well be looking at two big defeats, but let's wait and see?

I was wondering who you meant by JA, then you twice showed us you don't know how to spell Elmander! ;)
